We are so sorry that we’re STILL closed! There is nothing more that we would like than to have you all back here with us. Unfortunately, Governor Lee has extended the State of Emergency in Tennessee through August 29th.
Included in Executive Order No. 50 is the requirement to continue the closure of Senior Centers. We hope that by
August 29th things will be better surrounding the COVID-19 virus and that Governor Lee will lift the State of
Emergency. If he does lift it we will announce an opening date. However, if the State of Emergency is extended
again, we will have to follow it and remain closed. While we are closed to attendees we will continue to staff the
center phones daily 8am and 12pm.
“MCSC Needs Volunteers”
Once our Center reopens, a lot of things will change.
We will need more Hands on Deck to HELP. If you are willing & able to give us 4 hours, 1 or 2 days a week to help us to register other
Seniors when they arrive, take temperatures, give out masks, etc.
If you have some time on your hands, give us a call and leave your name & number and someone will be in contact with you.

What to expect when we do open…
We will not reopen the Centers all at once. We will use a phased in approach. Some activities will resume as soon as the center opens. Other activities will not start until a later phase.
Although we can share what activities will be allowed in each phase, we do not yet know the date that each phase will begin. Here is what you can expect in our first phase.
Phase 1:
Masks will be required. Masks must cover your nose and mouth and be worn at all times. Please bring your own mask. If you do not have a mask, we will provide you with one. You will not be allowed in the center without a mask.
You will be required to provide answers to the following questions. If they can not be answered satisfactorily, you will not be allowed in the center.
· Do you have a fever today? · Are you caring for someone who is ill? · Have you traveled out of the country in the last two weeks? · Have you been in contact with someone with COVID-19?
Your temperature will be taken with a no-contact thermometer. Anyone with a temperature of 100 or above will not be allowed in the center.
Some activities will not resume in Phase 1. These include bingo, card playing, Rummykub, nail care, jigsaw puzzling, and large food gatherings (pot luck and Unity lunches). There will be no tournaments during this phase.
The following activities may resume: pool (with masks and maximum of 4 people in pool room at any given time), crochet class, Wii bowling, and cornhole.
Congregate meals and morning breakfast treats will not be served in Phase 1. We will provide bottled water and coffee. A staff member will fix your coffee.
We will not reopen at full capacity. During Phase 1, only 25 people will be allowed in the center at any given time. You may be assigned to a specific day or days to attend the center during Phase 1 (more info to follow). Only 3 people will be allowed at each round table in the Columbia senior.
Information on Phase 2 will be communicated as we have it finalized.
For those who might want to send a card or note to our friend Jeana Foster here is her new address: Jeana Foster c/o Cambridge House of Maryville 6960 State Route 162 Apt. 133 Maryville, IL 62062
