Principal’s Message

Dear parents/caregivers,

Thank you to all parents for your continued support in implementing the departments updated guidelines for how

we operate in Term 3. It has meant a few changes including cancelling PSSA sport, the Athletics Carnival, School

Banking and the Father’s Day Stall. At present, Kindergarten and Year 7 orientation is also on hold, however the

department will be reviewing all of these guidelines at the start of Term 4.

2021 Kindergarten Enrolments

If you have a child who is turning five or six next year, please contact the front office to collect an enrolment form.

Enrolments can also be completed online via our school website. Kindergarten Transition is on hold at the moment

due to COVID restrictions but families with completed paperwork will be contacted if this changes. If you have

neighbours or friends living in the area with children who will be attending King Park Public School in 2021, please

advise them to contact the school office on 9604 7691 to find out about enrolling their child.

Parent/teacher interviews

As you know, we are unable to hold parent/ teacher interviews this year. We believe it is important that we provide

parents with an opportunity to talk to their child’s class teacher about their child’s learning and the most appropriate

way to do that at the moment is to hold parent/ teacher phone interviews. You are able to book a phone interview

via the parent online portal. Information on how to do this went home on Monday. If you need any help at all to

book a telephone interview please contact the school office on 9604 7691 and the ladies will be able to help you.

SASS Week Celebrations

This week is SASS Week and here we celebrate all of our School Administration and Support Staff. This includes our

office staff, our Student Learning Support Officers (SLSO’s) and our GA’s. You all work tirelessly to ensure our school

runs smoothly and we thank you for all that you do.

Skoolbag app

All communication to parents is through Skoolbag app. Please download it and check that other families you

associate with have it. Only notes with permission slips will be sent home as a hard copy.

Stay home if you are sick

The most important advice I can give is that if you are sick, please stay home from school. This is the message that

has been given to all staff members as well. All adults on site will be healthy and ready to work and we expect the

same for our children and their families. If they are unwell at school you or your nominated emergency contact will

need to collect them immediately. Please make sure your contact details are up to date.

OC Placement Test

As a result of the most recent advice from NSW Health, the Opportunity Class Placement Test has been rescheduled to 18 November 2020. Tests will be administered in the students' own schools and high schools won't be used as test centres this year.

We will provide you with further details as soon as they are available.

Online Enrolment

We are excited to announce that the new Online Enrolment System is now live! The

Online Enrolment System is designed to provide flexibility for our parents to submit an

enrolment application online and at the time that best suits you. The application can be

accessed on all browsers and mobile devices including iOS and Android.

The online application process is currently restricted to:

Enrolments into local schools only

Children who are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or permanent residents

Children who live in NSW. We offer our support and encourage you to complete your application to enrol online. If, however, you do not feel

comfortable completing an application online, a paper copy will be available for collection from the front office or

can be downloaded from the Department’s going to a public school site.
