NEWSLETTER is not something that can come and go. It
should not reach pinnacles and then drop
into valleys. It is like a marathon. We simply
have to keep at it every day. The customers
do not pay for mediocre service. In addition
IMQAS wants to be known as a service pro-
vider that consistently delivers a service of the
highest standard. This is made possible by
each of you, on the abattoir floor, at your
post.
Provident fund
The management committee of the IMQAS
provident fund had a meeting with our em-
ployee benefit consultant. The benefit state-
ments were sent out to all the members. This
document provides you with fund related in-
formation, including your contributions and
value of your retirement savings. No prob-
lems were brought to our attention. The
FundsAtWork provident fund is well man-
aged by Momentum.
Meat Inspection Scheme
Once again, unfortunately, this space is emp-
ty. We will keep you informed of any new
information.

Dear colleagues
One can hardly believe that we have
reached the final quarter of 2016. For most
people time passes much too swiftly. The
idiom was apparently first recorded in 1800,
so it is clearly not a new phenomenon that
“time flies quickly”.
Quality
As a service provider we have two main re-
sponsibilities:
To ensure that the meat we inspect is
safe for human consumption.
To accurately describe the carcass ac-
cording to the regulations.
The standard and quality of these tasks lie
in your hands. You have been properly
trained and mentored to perform these du-
ties. The continuous drive to always do ones
best is a mental attitude. To some people it
comes naturally. They always strive to give
excellence. It is in their nature. Top athletes
are a good example of such people.
To most of us, however, it is a skill that we
have to acquire. We have to constantly re-
mind ourselves that top quality is non nego-
tiable. Our customers expect us to deliver a
service of the highest standard.
Consistency
This superior service that is required of us
must be provided on a continuous basis. It

Carcasses and portions of meat condemned by the meat inspector/veterinarian which poses a
possible health threat. Such material must be held under secure conditions until disposed of in
accordance with Abattoir Hygiene Jan 2007, 28 legislation
