The Guild voted to support the churchsLove Quilt project which provides quiltsto orphaned children in Africa. Wehave received our five sets of 4.5blocks painted by children in the U.S.to include in twin size quilts. Whilework has begun on the quilts, we need
to complete themby April.

GUILD BLOCK FOR QUILT TRAIL: Approved last year to do
a block which will be our guild logo. Still working details
and contract. Size 4x4, $350/8x8, $550. Half of money
due at contract signing, remainder at installation.
PORTABLE MICROPHONE/SOUND SYSTEM: Kathy will re-
search. PROGRAM: Debbie Powell presented six great simple
quilting patterns. Fast and simple ideas. Copies of the in-
structions for these patterns can be obtained from Debbie

NOMINATING COMMITTEE: Betty Jo Pernell will be heading up a nominating committee to identify
new officers for next year. The slate will be presented
by July so the new officers can spend the following
months shadowing the current leadership.
BLOCK OF THE MONTH: Sarah challenges us again with
three blocks: appliqu, paper or machine piecing APRIL PROGRAM: Eileen Davison will demonstrate her
fabriclandscape painting. Members will need to bring a
small canvas, approximately 8x10, permanent fabric glue,
an idea for your picture, scissors, and any fabric scraps you might want to use. Eileen will also have
fabric scraps available.
CHRISTMAS COMMITTEE: Need members for the Christmas Commit-
tee planning.
DONATION TO CHURCH: As an expression of thanks for the use of
the building, members voted to donate $100 to the churchs soup
kitchen.
REMINDERS: Dont forget your fat quarter with name, and
your name tag.

MARCH MEETING NOTES
2014 PAINT SWATCH014PAINTSWATCHQUILT CHALLENGEMembers are given an envelope con-
taining two paint chips. Those are your
colors. If you do not have one, please
see Debbie Powell.
The rules are as follows:
This is a three color quiltthe two paints
chips plus a third color of your choosing.
All fabrics must match the two paint chips
or the third fabric color. Patterns are allowed, but the majority of the
fabric color must match one of your chips.
Borders must be PIECED.
The finished quilt must be larger than
30 X 30.
Keep the two paint chips and pin these to
the back for judging.
Deadline for completion, November 2014
