Hello Moose Members,
I would like to start off by thanking everyone who helped with the lodges renovations, without
out all of your help and hard work we could not have done it,( we are lucky Billy Wenk and Billy
Segar didn’t kill each other, lol. A special thank you to George and Cheryl Ruf (Eagle Glass) for
donating the mirrors for the bathrooms. I think the Lodge looks GREAT.
The last two years have been very hard and also fun. It has been a pleasure being Governor of
this lodge thru the good times and bad, we have tried to do what we think was best for the lodge.
I would like to thank Hawkeye for his hard work and dedication and also putting up with me ( Not
that I’m hardheaded) Last but not least I could not have done it without my great Officers And
Beth they kicked butt.
I hope everyone will support the next Governor so our wonderful lodge keeps moving forward. We
are always looking for new people to step up and help. With that being said, thank you all again
for this wonderful opportunity.
P.S. Without the help of Tracy and Taylor (aka The Boss) this could not of been done, a huge
thank you to both of them.
Fraternally yours
Frank Rozell
Hello All! Another Moose year is coming to an end. We’re looking for new officers and/or new members to attend our biweekly meetings. This is a great way to learn more about what is happening in and around the Moose Lodge. We are currently accepting nominations. Our elections are being held in the coming months. We have a busy day planned for Saturday, March 18th. We are hosting a Quarter Auction starting at noon and we’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with corned beef, cabbage and potatoes. Also, we are currently collecting food donations for St. Joseph’s Church. This will help them be able to replenish their food pantry before Easter. See flyers for all events in this newsletter. Our soup and chili cook-off was successful once again. We had 5 soups and 4 chilies this year. A big thank you to all of the participants. Our winners: 1st Place: Becky H. (Zupa soup with sausage, kale & potatoes) & Kim H. (Beef & sausage Chili) and 2nd Place: Terri H. (Cream of Crab soup) and Stacy B. (White Chicken Bean Chili). Congratulations! Don’t forget to bring the family for pizza every Thursday. We look forward to seeing you and if you can’t make it, then maybe you will be able to join us for a Friday night dinner. Remember, we’re always looking for new volunteers, ideas, etc. Please mark your calendars of our meeting nights, which will be the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month. Looking forward to seeing you there and in the Lodge.
Fraternally yours, Beth Garner
Administrator Notes: Elections are coming up quick so if you would like to join this winning team please put your name in for any of the elected offices. There’s a three-ring binder in the social quarters that has all the information that you might need to make up your mind. In addition to what the binder says there are a few other details that you might want to know.
1. You will have two meetings a month here at the lodge. 2. There will be at least three District meetings a year here and it would nice if you came to them. 3. We are doing a lot more bands and fund raisers here at the lodge and you’ll be asked to help now and then. 4. Men’s Friday night dinners, we call always use help in the kitchen. We’re talking two or three hours once a month. I ’m not trying to scare off anyone, but we’ve had some good officers in the past couple of years and your lodge has
gained a lot in any direction that you look. To be an officer is not just in name it’s in what you do to help also. 5. You see Frank and I around here every day doing something, well we have some time that we can spend here that the
average working person doesn’t. So don’t let that bother you we do understand. Speaking of volunteering, I would like each member to consider giving up at least four hours every six months to help here
at the lodge. Just small stuff helps a lot. A small list is posted below. A. Collecting money at a dinner B. Doing dishes at a dinner C. Collecting money at the door on band night D. Running a 50/50 on Friday night.
Just anything that you might see, if you see something that needs fixed or filled ask yourself if you can take care of it. We will not scold you for doing something to help trust me. One thing is for sure you’re never too young or too old to help somehow.
As the Administrator, I would like to thank the card players for their contributions to the building fund every week.
A portion of this money was used to purchase the new restroom stalls here at the Lodge. Hawkeye

Each community has its share of local heroes, whether it’s a member of the military or a local firefighter or police officer. They are often asked to handle high-risk situations, putting their personal safety in jeopardy. Beyond that, on a daily basis, they are viewed as role models that have the ability to make positive changes for their commu-nity and beyond. How can the Moose honor these local heroes? Through the gift of membership! It’s a natural fit for those who look to make the best of difficult situations, just as Moose members try to improve the lives of those they touch as well. From January 1st through April 30th, 2017 Moose International will waive all first-year fees and dues for active military personnel and first responders and encourage our lodges, chapters and Moose Legion’s to do the same. If you know someone who is serving our country or provides first responder services for your community, now is a great time to reach out and offer them a membership in the Moose.
