Page 1 Staffing Changes Mrs Tanya Dutlow has been offered the opportunity to work as a part of the Learning & Wellbeing Unit in the Departments Port Macquarie Office from Wednesday this week through until the end of Week 9 in mid- December. We wish Mrs Dutlow all the very best during this experience and we look forward to her rejoining us in Week 10. Miss Julie Slobin will be on leave from Monday next week through until the end of the school year. In their absence we welcome Mrs Meredith Norris and Miss Kyleah Miller to our KSPS staff. Our students are familiar with both Mrs Norris and Miss Miller and will continue to enjoy their learning over the next few weeks while Mrs Dutlow and Miss Slobin are out of the school. Fundraising Efforts – Thank our Firies During Week 4, prior to our non-operational days in Week 5, we held our fundraising day to thank our local firies for the great job theyve been doing and will continue to do to keep our community safe. Our schools efforts were gratefully accepted by Dondingalong Brigade Captain Steve Sproule. He wanted to thank our students and community for their generosity. The funds will be used to purchase a microwave and kettle for their kitchen so that the hard working volunteers can heat food or enjoy a cuppa when they are resting from fighting fires. The fires that have devastated large portions of NSW have had a direct impact on our school community and more particularly, those communities from Willawarrin PS and Bellbrook PS. It will take a great deal of time for these people and their families to recover from this and as a school, we have offered our support to assist in any way we can. Please be mindful that we may hold additional events over the coming months, and into 2020, to help us fundraise, collect goods, etcwhich may go a small way to helping those who are in need at the moment. We know our wonderful KSPS community will assist when called upon as you have always demonstrated great generosity and community spirit. In the meantime, if you want to show your support we are happy to be a drop off centre where we can ensure donations will get to the appropriate people. This will be long, dry and continual bushfire season so please take care out there, look after your neighbours and make sure that youve got a plan in place for your family should you be required to leave in a hurry. Change of Bookings Due to the majority of schools being non- operational for a large chunk of last week, we may need to shuffle some events in our calendar back to accommodate for the backlog in bookings. At this stage the only KSPS event which may be impacted will be the Intensive Swimming Program, originally booked for Weeks 7 & 8 for Years 3-6. This may need to move one week back and take place in Weeks 8 & 9, however nothing has been confirmed yet. Should we need to alter these arrangements all parents and carers will be notified.
