Being a church school and promoting Christian

values means that each child, no matter what their

faith or background is cared for and taught

unchanging values which contribute to their

emotional and social wellbeing.

Quote from the Parental Questionnaire

A message from the Headteacher

The children of Year 4 had a whale of a time visiting the Sea

Life Centre London on Thursday 6th June.

They engaged in an educational workshop about classification and collaborated as a team to locate and answer key questions. It was lovely to

see how enthused the children were at each learning zone and their excitement to find out about sea creatures that

they didn’t know before. We were extremely proud of the way the children conducted themselves on the day and they represented the school well.

Thank you again to all the parents that volunteered their time to help make the day a success.

Cygnus School Journey

On Monday 3rd June, Year 1 started their new topic

‘Superheroes’. We dressed up as our favourite

superheroes and did lots of fun

activities. We shared comic books

together emphasising words like ‘ZAP’

and ‘POW’! In the afternoon we made

slime from household items.

The St Dunstan’s chess team

continue to perform well. The Under 8 team played in a Megafinal at Caterham School. Solomon, Joshua, George and Cobi all qualified for the Gigafinal. Well done to all players who competed and good luck in the next round to those who take up their places.

Mr Buckley, Chess Coach

Superheroes for the Day...

Chess News

A massive ‘well done’ to Kai in Year 4 who won the school’s Table Tennis Tournament in May. He played incredibly well and fought to the finish against very good players.

Yesterday, 6th June, eight Y5 and Y6 children took part in the Area Heat of the National KS2 Maths Inter-School Quiz Championship 2018-2019 competing against 11 other teams from local schools. The children faced 30 extremely challenging maths questions; some were answered mentally and for others paper was

supplied. The teams only had 1 minute to answer each question! They did amazingly well. Well done Jacob, Archie, Emaya, Kristina, Oliver, Tadey, Elizabeth and Anisha.

I loved acting out

and using

expression!

(Colton, Neptune)

A superhero is

strong and brave.

(Gilbert, Mercury)

I liked making slime.

It was fun!
