PREPmdashYEAR 4 SWIMMING LESSONS

Each year when planning our swimming program we take into consideration the parent

feedback we have previously received whilst at the same time providing students with a comprehensive and affordable program

This year was the first year we have run hour long lessons over 5 days at Splashdown as a change to the 8 days of 45min lessons

Overall they receive one hour less in instruction time but get a more intensive program therersquos

less disruption to the school timetable and the cost is reduced We also found students get very tired over a swimming program and some get sick so by

reducing the length of the program this was also more manageable

We would really appreciate your feedback about the program

YEAR 3 TRAFFIC SAFETY WALK

On Friday November the 2nd the Year 3 students went for a walk to the Drysdale shopping centre to practice the skills they had learnt during our Traffic Education unit

It was a very warm and windy day but that didnrsquot stop the students from showing all our school values and getting there and back safely using the rules and skills they have gained

This walk required them to stop look listen and think when crossing at traffic lights zebra crossings and driveways

Overall it was an enjoyable and educational experience for all Thanks to Miss McCague Mr Smith and Narelle

YEAR 4 BIKE ED FINAL BIKE RIDE On Friday 49 Year 4 students set off on our final Bike Ed ride to Queenscliff The weather was very interesting with wild winds and the threat of rain hanging above us

All students tackled the ride with fantastic enthusiasm especially the students who werenrsquot able to ride a bike at the beginning of the program We had a few stops along the way and arrived at Queenscliff at 1230 having lunch at the train station and then going for a walk around the mariner and up the 360 lookout tower

Following this we got on the train and had a scenic ride back to Drysdale where we then arrived to ride home Unfortunately as we hit Jetty road the rain started and we all got a little wet

Again a credit to the students who didnrsquot let this slow them or stop them

Overall it was a great day and a huge thank you needs to go to Ms Costa Ms Parker Jason Anthony Matt and Rachel

A mini survey is attached with this newsletter Please fill in and return or contact Michelle on
