Saint John Paul’s Prayer For Peace
Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace,
who are yourself our peace and reconciliation,
who so often said, "Peace to you," grant us peace.
Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice,
and brotherly love.
Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace.
Enlighten our rulers that they may
guarantee and defend the great gift of peace.
May all peoples on the earth
become as brothers and sisters.
May longed for peace blossom forth
and reign always over us all.

Father Michael J. McGivney Guild
Knights Founder to be beatified on Oct. 31, 2020
The Father Michael J. McGivney Guild promotes the cause for sainthood of the founder of the Knights of
Columbus, who will be beatified on Oct. 31, 2020. Members of the Guild, and anyone devoted to Father
McGivney, can play an active role in the cause by praying for his intercession in times of need, especially in cases of serious illness, and reporting to the Guild any favors received.
Membership in the Guild is free and open to anyone who is devoted to Father McGivney and wishes to invoke his
intercession and assist in his sainthood cause through prayer. Members receive a quarterly newsletter and are
remembered in a weekly Mass offered for their intentions.
Catholic men who wish to live out the vision and mission of Father McGivney are invited to join the Knights of
Columbus and become part of a network of charity, unity and fraternity that serves local parishes and communities.
Father McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus in 1882 in New Haven, Conn., and died at the age of 38 in
1890. His cause for sainthood was opened in 1997, and his heroic virtue was recognized by the Vatican in March 2008, when he was declared a Venerable Servant of God by Pope Benedict XVI.
On May 26, 2020, Father McGivney took another step toward sainthood when Pope Francis approved the
promulgation of a decree recognizing a miracle attributed to his intercession. With the approval of this miracle, he
will be beatified on Oct. 31, 2020, with the title of Blessed.
Another miracle through his intercession is needed for him to be canonized as a saint.
Those devoted to Father McGivney are encouraged to recite regularly the prayer for his canonization, which is
available online and on a special prayer card. You may Report Favors through this website or by email or regular
mail at the addresses listed below. The Guild has more than 175,000 members, and you are encouraged to join by
filling out and submitting the online form. Please assist in the cause of Father McGivney by spreading the word
about this holy and blessed priest. To join the Father McGivney Guild. Membership is free and you receive many
benefits, including a quarterly newsletter with spiritual insights and updates on the cause, and a weekly Mass
offered for the intentions of all Guild members. Take a moment now to access the online enrollment form.
Blessed Michael J. McGivney Medallion To celebrate the beatification of our founder, Father Michael J. McGivney, commemorative
medallions* will be awarded to every recruiter who recruits 5 or more members during the 2020-2021
fraternal year.
*Only recruiters from insurance jurisdictions are eligible for the Blessed Michael J. McGivney
Medallion incentive.

Worthy Grand Knight Ron Karaskiewicz
Brothers All,
SK Ron Meyer sent me an announcement for a very special event being held on Saturday October 3rd.
Both he and I feel this is important and all Knights should be aware of it.
The event is a seminar sponsored jointly by Bishop Olmsted of the Dioceses of Phoenix, The Catholic
Women of Phoenix and the Knights of Columbus. You may recognize that Most Rev. Thomas
Olmsted, Bishop of Phoenix wrote the book “Into the Breach.”
This event is titled Catholics in the Public Square and it is intended to address the current, and ever
increasing, attacks on Catholics and the Catholic Church by the secular left in our society and more
specifically the political attacks on Catholics in public life. It is reported that the two leading
candidates for the Supreme Court are both Catholic women. Judge Amy Coney Barrett is a practicing
Catholic, the mother of 7 children (two adopted from Haiti) and a woman that has already withstood the
scrutiny of Senate hearings. The second leading candidate is Judge Barbara Lagoa also a practicing
Catholic mother of three children and if selected would be the first Hispanic woman with Cuban
heritage on the Bench. Both of these candidates are considered a threat to Roe vs. Wade and since they
are both outstanding individuals, with exceptional credentials only their Catholicism can be
attacked…and it is. In addition, VP candidate Camila Harris and Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii both
publicly attached Mr. Buescher in 2018 as he was being vetted for the U.S. District Court of Nebraska.
Mr. Buescher is a member of the Knights of Columbus, which again, is a threat to the left.
Below is the announcement for this event. I encourage you all to look at the video and consider
watching on October 3rd.
As we approach the fall elections, we must never forget that God remains with us and has a plan and
responsibility for each of us to be faithful Catholics and loyal, responsible citizens.
With the Diocese of Phoenix, HLA/NCHLA is pleased to invite you to participate in a special virtual
event hosted by Bishop Olmsted in conjunction with the Catholic Women of Phoenix and the Knights
of Columbus.
Due to circumstances surrounding the pandemic, the only way to view this event live will be on the
Diocese of Phoenix YouTube and Facebook pages.
Join Bishop Olmsted for Mass on Saturday, October 3, at 8:30 AM Phoenix-West Coast Time (11:30
AM Eastern / 10:30 AM Central / 9:30 AM Mountain) followed by a blockbuster program featuring,
among others, renowned law professor Helen Alvaré and religious freedom expert Alan Sears.

Lord, make me an instrument of Your
Peace: Where there is
hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek To be
consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand; To be loved, as to
love;
For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we
are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. Amen

From Brother Curt Kuper
Hello! My name is Rachel Keller and I am the new vice-president for Project Defending Life!
I am working with Mr. Curt Kuper on the 40 Days for Life campaign this Fall and am so excited because I know how powerful it is and how many lives are changed as a result of our peaceful, prayerful witness to the beauty of life.
I understand that the 40 Days for Life campaign usually starts with an opening rally, but unfortunately, we will not be able to gather in a large group this year. Instead, we are asking all the churches who are participating in the 40 Days of peaceful prayer and fasting to dedicate their Mass/church service on the Sunday prior to the beginning of the campaign (Sunday, September 20th) to the sanctity of life and the success of this campaign!
In my prayer this year, this one scripture has come up time and again, so I thought I would share it with you all as an encouragement for our collective efforts throughout these 40 Days:
“And be not conformed to this world: but be reformed in the newness of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and the acceptable and the perfect will of God.” –Romans 12:2.
May we always remember that every good thing comes from the Lord and rejoice in hope for the goodness to come! May we begin these 40 Days in peace and joy and experience a daily reformation of our hearts and minds. And may we be steadfast in seeking what is the perfect will of God.
God bless you all; I’ll see you on the sidewalk!
In Christ,
Rachel Keller Vice President, Project Defending Life [email protected]

Knights of Columbus Insurance
Brothers,
Soon you'll be receiving your 2020 Fraternal Survey. Separate and distinct from the
council fraternal survey, this survey is designed to help members update the Supreme
Council on their information and circumstances, so that the Supreme Council can - in
turn - advise them of the member benefits available to them that they may not be
taking advantage of.
And just what are those benefits?
Of course, you, your spouses and your dependent children have the exclusive
opportunity to protect your financial future through the Knights of Columbus. The
Knights of Columbus can insure your life, protect your family, safeguard your
paycheck, help provide for your long-term care, and help you retire happily and
comfortably. You know that part well.
But that's not all. The Knights of Columbus also provides complimentary financial
benefits to members, like our accidental death coverage.
One of the benefits of membership that l think is most important and most underrated
is the simple benefit of having a relationship with a brother Knight field agent. Unlike
my commercial counterparts, I share a common bond with you. We're brothers! And,
as such, my primary focus is not to make a sale or close a deal, it's to help you
determine what protection you and your family may need. My job is to help you
identify solutions that work best for you, period.
So as a Knight, you can meet with me as often as you'd like. I can use some of our
cutting edge software and tools as well as my own experience, to start exploring your
financial situation, or your retirement, and present potential solutions for you and your
family to consider. I can help you customize a plan for protection that is specific to
your circumstances and your budget.
But I can't help you with what I don't know.
So as things get somewhat back to normal, and we all start to ramp up again in the
fall, I encourage you to keep an eye on your mailbox for the Fraternal Survey, fill it
out, let me know what's new, and I'll be in touch to schedule a follow up conversation
- virtual or otherwise - so we can talk about potential next steps.
I look forward to connecting soon.
Vivat Jesus!

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their
neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and
building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may
continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your venerable servant Father Michael J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the
favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Knight’s Prayer
Our Lady, Queen of the Knights, bless all the activities of our Order. Keep us true to our pledge, to extend the kingship of thy divine son on earth.
Through Thine intercession, win for us the grace, ever to exemplify in our public and private lives, the virtues that should characterize those especially dedicated to the service of the heavenly court. Make us always aware that as your Knights, we are constantly observed, our faith judged, and our Order
appreciated. Accept, O Mary, this renewed pledge of fealty and devotion, of Thy
Servants, the Knights of Columbus. http://www.kofc11768.org/?page_id=19
