Central school classes from 1971-1974 gathered in Ardlethan on Saturday of the long weekend to celebrate forty years or so since leaving school. Former students travelled from as far as Perth, Darwin, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Merimbula, Batemans Bay, Griffith, Wagga, Albury, Barooga, Cobar and surrounding areas of the Riverina. Organized by former Ardlethanite Mau-rice Gaynor of Barooga the afternoon commenced with a look through the Central School and a wonderful presen-tation of photos put together by Tasma Crosswell and Elizabeth Menzies. They then went over to the Recreation ground club rooms where they enjoyed much chatting and having photos taken by Jim Slater before a barbeque meal catered for by Sue Strickland & helpers of the Bowling Club. Around sixty people attended as well as two former teachers John Harrison of Forbes and Greg Smith from Taree. Maurice was very grateful to all those people who helped make the event such a success. Many visitors gathered at the Warri Street home of Margaret & Ernie Davies on Sunday morning for brunch before leaving to head home.
