Issue 13, Friday 18th December 201 5
On Sunday 13th December
2015 the Folkestone Symphony
Orchestra held their Family
Christmas Concert at the Saga
Pavilion in Folkestone. They
played a wonderful
programme of orchestral
music, including the popular
themes from Harry Potter and
The Pirates of the Caribbean as well as Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and Saint-Saen’s Danse Macabre.
This year, a joint choir formed from singers from Sandgate Primary and Folkestone Primary Academy was
invited to perform with them. Our fabulous singers rose brilliantly to the occasion and performed three
Christmas favourites for everybody to enjoy; Christmas Calypso, The Little Drummer Boy and Jingle Bell
Rock. Mrs Tait and Ms Tulloch were extremely proud of all our singers for representing our school so
immaculately and performing so professionally! Well done, choir, you rocked!
Folkestone Running Club Awards Well done to Matthew D who won a trophy for Junior Athletic Achievement 2015 for Best Distance Runner and to Emmanuel V who was the 75 metres champion and holds the record for long jump...an impressive 4.13 metres! Sadie B won the junior Coaches Award.
Thank you to everyone who
supported the Santa Fun Run
on Sunday. Not only did our
girls come first, second and
third place but Teyen A won
the boys race and we also
brought back the trophy for
Biggest Team! A special
mention goes to Conrad K, who
ran the whole 5 kilometres!!
Well done Sandgate!
