The airport serves as a point of call for commercial, corporate and general aviation, and services both private and commercial rotary-wing and fixed-wing operators located on site. Bonnyville Air Services Ltd. provides charter service. The substantial construction of the Bonnyville Regional Airport came from the initial investment in the facility through the Alberta Airport Development Program in 1975. Through 1984, the airport saw the completion of a paved and lighted runway, taxiway and apron. A 1985 runway extension was supplemented by a 1992 final runway extension funded by Alberta Transportation and the Town of Bonnyville. Remedial pavement work was funded by Alberta Transportation with a 1985 pavement overlay and a 1994 fog seal. The Bonnyville Regional Airport is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and is capable of supporting Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) operations. Runway 08 and 26 have RNAV approaches with Vertical Guidance with Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) Overlay. Runway 08 only has Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) available. The maneuvering area consists of one runway and a joining taxiway system plus an aircraft parking apron. The primary runway is 4,433 feet long by 75 feet wide, asphalt. Airport Manager Edgar Simard’s airport service hours are: Summer Season- Monday to Friday From May 1 to September 30. Summer hours will be 0700 - 1500 daily. (statutory holidays not included). Winter Hours - Monday to Friday from October 1, 2015 or as weather conditions dictate to the 30 of April, 2016 for the hours 0530 - 1330 and 0700 - 1500 from May 1 to September 30 (statutory holidays not included). Edgar Simard’s duties will include reporting runway surface conditions and daily weather conditions; provide Airport NOT AM concerning Runway Surface Conditions; keep radio contact with incoming and departing aircraft; manage and park aircraft, as needed and to correspond with all aerodrome users. AIRPORT PROFILE: Bonnyville Regional Airport (CYBF), AB The Bonnyville Regional Airport is located 3 kilometers north of the Town of Bonnyville and occupies a land area of

approximately 77.63 acres and is jointly operated by the Town of Bonnyville and the Municipal District of Bonnyville. The airport serves as a point of call for commercial, corporate and general aviation, and services both private and commercial rotary-wing and fixed-wing operators located on site. Bonnyville Air Services Ltd. provides charter service.

The substantial construction of the Bonnyville Regional Airport came from the initial investment in the facility through the Alberta Airport Development Program in 1975. Through 1984, the airport saw the completion of a paved and lighted runway, taxiway and apron. A 1985 runway extension was supplemented by a 1992 final runway extension funded by Alberta Transportation and the Town of Bonnyville. News Changes could be coming to the main entrance to the Medicine Hat Regional Airport as a new proposal would market commercial land as well as clean up the area near Gershaw Drive. A city committee heard Wednesday the $2.5 million land department project would be a scaling back of existing plans, but would remake the main entrance of the city-owned site into a “western gateway” to the city and set the stage for future business development.

News The Capital Regional District is supporting Saanich Coun. Judy Brownoff’s resolution to resist the privatization of public airports in Canada. News The Westlock Regional Airport was another area where it was suggested that less government control would work better. The airport is owned by the Town of Westlock and Westlock County and operated by the county under an interim-operating agreement. March 1, 2017

11. Harbour Air Adds New Flights Linking Comox and Vancouver – Comox Valley Echo Harbour Air Seaplanes added direct daily flights from Comox to downtown Vancouver on Monday, February 27th, providing a waterfront to waterfront connection between the two cities and a faster commuter alternative to the ferry. Harbour Air now offers two daily scheduled seaplane flights from Monday to Friday between Comox and downtown Vancouver. Scheduled weekend flights between the two cities will begin on March 12th.

Nunatsiaq Online KUUJJUAQ—Transport Canada has agreed to look into installing a security screening station in the Puvirnituq airport, the Kativik Regional Government said last week. The KRG, which manages the region’s airports, has been asking the federal agency for years to install a Canadian Air Travel Security Authority (CATSA) security screening station in the airport in Purvirnituq, the transportation hub for Nunavik’s Hudson coast. 15. Pickering Airport? Town Council Briefs: Airport Grant – by Jackie Gold-Irwin, Hanna Herald CAO Kim Neil reported that administration has submitted a grant application to the Province of Alberta under the Strategic Transportation Program Community Airport Program for the rehabilitation and resurfacing of the Hanna Airport runway. With the Province budgeting $2,000,000 for the program, the town could be eligible for 75 per cent of the estimated cost of $759,470 if the application is successful. 17. Harbour Air Resuming Flights – by Sean Eckford, Coast Reporter Harbour Air is flying between Sechelt and downtown Vancouver again. The seaplane company announced last October that it was switching from daily flights to a seasonal schedule on that route, while year-round service would continue to Vancouver Airport and Nanaimo.

GP Man Arrested for Truck Heist, Stabbing – Grande Prairie Herald-Tribune A 21-year-old Grande Prairie man is in custody and facing a number of charges, after a truck heist went sideways, sending one person to hospital Wednesday. … The suspect ran away on foot, ending up at the Grande Prairie Airport where he crossed a runway.

Two Planes Collide on Sudbury Airport Tarmac – by Callam Rodya, Sudbury.com The Greater Sudbury Airport has issued the following statement: At approximately 11:45 a.m. on Friday, March 3rd, an incident involving two small cargo aircraft occurred on an apron at the Greater Sudbury Airport. The incident is considered non-critical and no one injured. 20. Air Fares, Second Quarter 2016 – Statistics Canada Base air fares in Canada, domestic and international combined, averaged $216.80 in the second quarter, down 7.3% from the same quarter in 2015 and continuing the downward trend that began in the second quarter of 2015. Municipal CAO Murray Clarke says if the repairs did not go ahead, it's likely the federal government would have forced the facility close in 2018. 27.
