SEGOVIA, ciudad market by the Imperial Rome

Segovia guarda uno de los monumentos arquitectónicos del Imperio Romano mejor conservados de España: el Acueducto. Data del siglo I d.C., siendo terminado por Trajano, el primer emperador nacido en Hispania. Esta obra permitió el desarrollo de la ciudad consiguiendo traer agua hasta el centro urbano.

Segovia has one of the best

preserved Roman monuments in

Spain: the Aqueduct.

It was built in the 1st century A.D. by

Trajan, the first emperor born in

Hispania.

This magnificent work allowed the

urban development by bringing water

to the city centre.

Declared a World Heri tage Site by UNESCO in 1985, Segovia is full of history, art, culture, light and good fare and wine.

Its essence leaves an i n d e l i b l e m a r k .

90 km far from Madrid, Segovia is linked by high speed train to the Spanish capital in 25 minutes.

From Madrid-Barajas airport the trip by coach takes 1 hr 15 minutes.

LA CATEDRAL Conocida como “La Dama de las catedrales” por la gran altura de la torre y la profundidad de sus tres naves. De estilo gótico tardío, sustituye a la antigua catedral románica –que estaba situada junto al Alcázar– y que había quedado muy dañada durante la rebelión de los Comuneros.

THE CATHEDRAL Known as "The Lady of the Cathedrals" because of

the great height of the tower and the depth of its

three naves.

It was built in late Gothic style, replacing the old

Romanesque cathedral, which was located next to

the Alcazar, which had been much damaged during

the revolt of the Communards (16th century).

EL ALCÁZAR Espectacular emblema de la ciudad, al igual que el Acueducto.

Ubicado estratégicamente sobre la confluencia de dos ríos. Durante la Edad Media fue residencia de los reyes de Castilla.

THE ALCÁZAR An impressive landmark of the city, together with the Aqueduct.

It is strategically situated on the confluence of two rivers. During the Middle Ages it

was the residence of the kings of Castile.

LA SEGOVIA JUDÍA

En la Edad Media, Segovia acogió una de las juderías más importantes de España, llegando a tener cinco sinagogas. Algunas familias judías llegaron a alcanzar un enorme prestigio y poder político y económico. Aún hoy se puede apreciar una sinagoga, su n e c r ó p o l i s y l a arquitectura en el barrio judío.

ROMÁNICO, un estilo que define a Segovia

Un templo único de este estilo es la Iglesia de Vera Cruz, la más singular iglesia románica, falsamente atribuida a la orden del Temple, pues recientemente se ha atribuido a la orden de los Caballeros del Santo Sepulcro.

ROMANESQUE style

Tras la repoblación del territorio segoviano, con Alfonso VI, se elevaron más de 200 iglesias románicas en la provincia, conservadas en su mayor parte en la actualidad.

was thought to be built

by the Templars, it has

Sixth in the 12th

century, more than 200

Romanesque churches

were built in the area.

Today Romanesque

stands for the main

En una finca a 10 minutos de Segovia, se recrea una de las batallas en las que se enfrentaron los Comuneros con su líder, Juan Bravo, y el ejército imperial de Carlos V. Los equipos, con su correspondiente vestimenta histórica, disfrutarán con pruebas y juegos bajo la dirección de expertos en estrategia militar. Duración aproximada 3:00 h.
