    From Pastor Chris

No one wants to admit it No one wants to admit they dont have it all togetherespecially at church. Perry Noble, in his book, Overwhelmed, says, People assume that Christians have perfect livesthat we ride unicorns, eat Lucky Charms, and sing happy songs all day. Maybe part of the reason people assume church people have it all together is because

we are usually really good at covering up our messes. Sunday mornings, we clean up well and come to church with our best faces. However, Gods Word moves us toward authenticity and vulnerability. I know that is scary, but Gods people have

always struggled with this. The Bible is full of stories of people who dont have it all together in their lives. The Bible con-tains the 10 commandments (Exodus 20:1-17) and the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:1-12) which convict us of our sin, so we might admit our brokenness and our need for a Savior. That is what sets us apartnot a lack of messes or being overwhelmed, but a willingness to confess them and fall on the grace of the cross. When that happens, when the world sees Christians humbly admitting we dont have it all together, and that we find ways to love each other anyway, others will be drawn to come and

see why. Church is family, broken and redeemed people, admitting our need for Jesus and falling more in love with him everyday. How does that old hymn goJust as I am , without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me, and that thou

biddst me come to thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come

For anyone who is willing to admit that life can get overwhelming at times...Come

Abby Paskvan has been named top 5 "New Soloist of the Year" by fans of Singing News Magazine. The awards ceremony will be held at the National Quartet Con-vention in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee in September. Abby is releasing a new CD this fall entitled I Will Go. Abby sings old gospel, as well as original songs.

***Pastor Chris has been inspired by Abbys singing since she was 4 years old. She encourages you to come and to bring your neighbors and friends. She promises you will experience Gods presence as Abby shares the mes-sage in song. (For a preview, search her name on YouTube or go to www.abbypaskvan.com) She is coming at no cost to us. A free will offering will be received, and her CDs will be available.

From Abby - My experience singing for the Lord has been amazing and I want to thank all of you for sup-

porting me in my music ministry. But none of this would be possible without the Lord. He has been the

major part of my life for as long as I can remember, and singing for him and spreading his word has only

made my faith stronger. When I sing, I feel his presence and his overwhelming joy, and I want others to

feel what I feel. I sing because thats what God has made me to do. I could not have accomplished any-

thing that I have done in my life without Christ. I can do anything if I have his power within me. I love

you Lord and I will always serve you.
