Speaker of the Week This week this award goes to Hassan Ansari for his fantastic peformance of 'My brother…' Winning Team Well done to Mars this week. Attendance Well done to Miss Dootson's class this week. Time Beaters Well done to Reception CM, 2DB, 6CD, 6YA. Generosity Our school value for his half term is 'Generosity'. Our quote for this half term is ….“Real generosity is doing something nice for someone who will never find out.” It would really help if you could follow this up with your children at home and talk to them about what generosity means. Friday Assemblies We welcomed Cath Greenless to assembly this morning from Christian Aid to talk to us about the Church’s harvest appeal to help the victims of floods in Bolivia. Reception Class Reading Meeting There will be a VERY IMPORTANT reading meeting for all parents of children in reception classes on Wednesday at 2.45pm. Please come to this meeting to pick up your child's reading book. We expect at least one parent or family member per child to be at the meeting as it is very important that we share with you the importance of reading with your child. We look forward to seeing you there. If you cant make it due to other commitments, please let your child's teacher know and we will rearrange another opportunity for you to call in. Photograph Day The photographer will be in school on Tuesday 11th October for all children who want their photographs taking. PE kit ALL children must have outdoor kit (blue leggings / blue sweatshirt) which can be purchased from 'mum's the word' - the order form is on the school website. If you have bought black tracksuits already that is fine for the moment. Other colours are not acceptable. Science challenge Well done to everyone with their responses to the science challenge. We had some great responses from across school. This week's challenge is 'Why can we see the moon during the day?' Reading We have new reading books in school in the junior classes. Please ensure your child reads every night for at least ten minutes and encourage them to discuss these lovely new books and tell you all about them.
