PRODUCT NEWS HYDROGEN LEAK DETECTOR

Syscon is introducing Hydrogen Leak Testing System for the first time in the country. H2 leak testers are very sensitive and can measure leak rates as low as 5X 10-7 mbarL/sec. This is several orders better thanair/nirtogen leak test systems. Leak detection using hydrogen method is becoming more common in industry.

Such a precision leak tester calls for very high accuracies in the jig and couplers. We are proud to announce that Syscon has attained this capability and the first Leak Tester is being supplied to one of the prestigious Multinational Automotive part makers.

New concept of blockage measurement

Innovation @ Syscon @

For India's leading casting manufacturer, Syscon has engineered a differential pressure measurem--ent method for performing blockage testing andleak testing for a front cover of engine block. Thechallenge was to improve upon an earlier suppliedmachine that was unable to detect the 30% bloc--kage in the component. A completely new design concept was visualized byShivanand Aithal and Kasturi Rangan. Instead of going for the conventional method of air flow

measurement for blockage detection, they incorporated differential air pressure measurement enabled by Fukuda instruments. As a result, the Gurgaon based casting manufacturer was able to detect 30% blockage in these components which it supplied to a Canada based automotive firm. This reduced the compo--nents rejection rate from 50% to 10%. Syscon's testing system enabled the customer to set a benchmark of quality for the components that it was making. In the course, it effected a change in the manufacturing process at its factory unit in Gurgaon.

Life is Coffee

A group of IIM alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turnedinto complaints about stress in work and life.Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a largepot of coffee and an assortment of cups porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said, “If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cupswere taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.

While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other's cups.”

Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change. Some times, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it. Don't let the cups drive you... Enjoy the coffee instead.
