Christmas & New Years Residential Refuse Collection

Schedule Changes

To accommodate weekly residential refuse collection, the following schedule changes will be made during affected Statutory Holidays.

These schedule changes apply strictly to areas serviced by residential roll out carts. Regular scheduled collection resumes the week following the Statutory Holiday. As a result, residents may have two refuse collections in a one week period. Please ensure carts are placed out the night before the scheduled collection day as collection times will vary. Also ensure empty carts are removed from the street the same day they have been emptied.

If your refuse collection day is:

Refuse collection will occur on:

Friday, December 25th – Christmas Day Monday, December 28th Friday, January 1st – New Years Day Monday, January 4th

Thank you for your cooperation,

RESIDENTIAL REFUSE

COLLECTION REMINDER

To ensure the weekly collection of your residential

refuse cart, please follow these simple steps:

• Keep the lid closed with the wheels of the cart against the curb. • If there is a snow bank built up along the curb, ensure the cart is out further

than the snow bank. • Refrain from parking on the street on collection day, however, if there are

vehicles on the street, please make sure there is adequate room for the garbage truck to safely reach the cart (minimum of one meter).

• Collection times may vary; please have your CART OUT THE NIGHT BEFORE your assigned collection day to avoid missing collection.

• CARTS MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE STREET THE SAME DAY that they have been emptied and stored on your property. This protects your cart and is also important for effective and efficient snow removal by the Public Works Department.

Other important facts to remember:

• Carts are assigned to each specific address. Do not remove the cart if you relocate to another address.

• Inform Ottenbreit Sanitation of any damage, vandalism or theft of the cart. • You are responsible for your cart so PLEASE TAKE CARE OF IT.

For additional information on residential refuse collection, please visit our website at www.yorkton.ca.
