As an advocate for traditional methods Emilio described his methodology from foot stomping through fermentation to bottle. We sampled the same varietal made using both methods. September Meeting Topic: GENCO/PRO Blind Tasting and Discussion Mary Lou and George Marek will lead a comparison tasting, judging, and discussion of 5 flights of award-winning wines produced by GENCO members against the same variety made by a commercial winery that also took a top award in a recent professional competition. Let’s see how GENCO comes out compared to the professionals! Of course, we'd love to come out on top, but we will also have an opportunity to learn what is the best the pros can deliver. We will also discuss the characteristics of the five wine varieties we compare and how they apply to the selected wines. It should be interesting – and great fun! Reminder: for those members who have committed to bring wine (2 bottles already at proper temperature and sans foils), please arrive at the church no later than 6:30 so we can brown bag and label all the wines and prepare for the tasting. Thank you. BRING 3 GLASSES TO THIS MEETING so we can compare the results of the different styles Mark Your Calendar for the Harvest Festival Party Oct 8 th . Steve Nurse, GENCO Secretary
