Tips for The preparation of the Action Plan 2012-
2014
y Overall the format and structure of the action plan will not change but to bemore Results-Based Management (Monitoring and Evaluation).
y
We will use the logical frame workas the foundation for the plany There need to have a SMART objectives and outputs with very clear
indicators to measure the impacts.y The format of impact indicators will be changed by dividing into three parts:
indicator, baseline and target (see the slide below)y For the identification of the problem statement you could quote or cited evident
to supp0rt the statement.y Discuss with team and with network members to ensure the ownership of the
plan with clear idea,y Use the strategic plan to be the basic for developing action plan.y After identifying the objectives, purpose, outputs, activity and indicators, you
should include into the logical framework matrix.y Should consider this planning is the top priority for your work in August.y If you have questions regarding plan please come to ED for further clarification.y Be avoid of coping the previous action plan but you could copy of the project
background if it still relevant.

Format for the thematic issues/programme
y Background{ (Describe background/history that relevance to the thematic areas that we identified).
y Mission, vision, values, overall goal and programme goal{ (This part just copy from the recent strategic plan)
y Inputs{ (What resources that you need to achieve the programme goal i.e human and
financial resources, network members and others).
y Beneficiary{ (this could be included the direct and indirect beneficiary. It would be also good to
mentioned our stakeholders.)
y Monitoring and evaluation{ (how is you plan to monitor the achievement of the programme such as indicators,
how often we monitor the progress, when will be the evaluation or reflection andothers)
y Assumption and risk management{ (what are the perceive assumption to achieve the intended objective and what are the
risk that might happen and what will be the strategy to mitigate those risks)

y Problem statement{ Describe the situation, the context and the problems faced by the
beneficiaries; include specific quantified data where possible. Explain theproblem your project is intended to address. This part is important link tothe development of the purpose. See the slide on the problem and objectiveanalysis below.)
y Purpose{ (Describe the key purpose of your proposed project what to achieve. Be remember
this should be SMART.)
y Outputs{ (What are the expected results from the above purpose. The expected result could be
more than one.).y Activities
{ (Please describe in detail the main activities which will take place to achieve theseresults/outputs. The activity should be clear when?, how? Who? What? and where?)
