• There is a definite correlation between deprivation and Breastfeeding Initiation.

• The gap between the most and least deprived quintile is around 30%

• There has been a slight improvement in the initiation rate across the priority neighbourhood during the 3 year period from 39% to 45%.

• The Wakefield City Centre priority neighbourhood has an unusually high initiation rate, around 70% each year.
