Rule 1- The Playing AreaBelow Goal Markings (Dots)

STICK CHECKS

– Pre-game stick checks include pocket and for alterations.• Measurements in Appendix B are for support of

suspected irregularities.• It is NOT the intent of the rules for umpires to

measure every stick.• If the stick can be fixed and rechecked prior to start

of game = no penalty• If the stick cannot be fixed and rechecked prior to

start of game = no penalty and stick goes to table

The Field

U9 / U11 – smaller field (60-70 yard long by 30-40 yards wide)

- Goal circle, arc and fan and center line

U11, U13 and U15 – regulation field with all standard field markings

U15/U13 and U11 – coaches may go from substitution area to end of field on their half of field

U9 – one coach from each team is allowed on the field for purpose of instucting players

Note – Coaches being on the field is a privilege. And a specific coaches privileges can be taken away as part of misconduct foul.

Goal Differential – U13, U11 and U9 Only (NOT U15)– Goal differential of 4 or more, the team with the lower score has

the option to receive ball as free position at the center line instead of having a draw.

– Coach of trailing team can waive this and continue to take the draw. Once a coach makes decision on draw or possession, they may change at any time and need to advise umpire.

Defenders may not stay in the 8 meter arc for more than 3 seconds when Attack in possession crosses the restraining line unless:

Rule 6: Goal Circle Fouls(Minor)

A. A field player must not enter or have any part or her body or crosse on or in the goal circle at any time

B. Once a team gains possession of the ball in the goal circle, and the ball is cleared, the team must not return the ball to their goal circle until the ball has been played by another player.

C. The GK may not:

1. While inside the GC, reach out to play a ball off her body.

2. While inside the GC, reach out with her crosse and cover the ball to rake it into the GC if it prevents an opponent from legally playing the ball.

3. When grounded outside the goal circle, draw the ball into her goal circle.

Youth Specific Rules

No deputy is allowed at any level for youth lacrosse.

NH RulesPassFor All U11 and U13 LevelsPass Rule:• One attempted pass is required after the ball and the

ball carrier completely cross the restraining line before a shot can be taken at the goal.

• An additional pass is not required until the ball leaves the offensive side of the field beyond the restraining line.

• If a shot is taken before the pass is attempted, it is considered a goal circle violation and the ball is awarded to the goal keeper.

No pass rule for ALL U15 Games
