  • Goals in 2004• To help domestic ISPs to promote their network

infrastructures from IPv4 to IPv6• To construct the public networks, such as TANet and

TWAREN, with IPv6 enabled infrastructures • To integrate the domestic government, academic,

industry, and commercial IPv6 network infrastructures• To develop killer applications, such as digital A/V

contents, VoIPv6, multicasting, and grid computing on IPv6 infrastructures

    • To do IPv6 technical cooperation and experience exchange with other countries

  • Projects in 20041. ISP IPv6 Exchange Points Construction (ASCC)2. IPv6 Digital A/V Transmission (Chunghwa

Telecomm)3. Enabling IPv6 in the Backbone of the Taiwan

Academic Network (TANet) (MOECC)4. Deployment and Promotion of IPv6 SIP VoIP on

Campuses (Computing Center, NCTU)5. TWAREN IPv6 Network Platform & Applications

    Development Project (NCHC)

  • 1. ISP IPv6 Exchange Points Construction

    • To help ISPs to construct their IPv4/IPv6 transition systems

    • To construct IPv6 route servers, and traffic and real-time network monitoring systems

    • To construct IPv6 traffic exchange points for commercial and academic networks

    • To provide peering services with 6bone and M6bone for academic, research and commercial IPv6 networks

    • To provide IPv6 multicast peering services and to help peer networks to construct IPv6 multicast servers

  • 1. ISP IPv6 Exchange Points

  • 1. ISP IPv6 Exchange Links

    • Domestic Native Links with • 8 Networks • Bandwidth 360MB

    • Overseas Native Links with• 19 Networks • Bandwidth 777MB

    • Links to IPv6 IXs• NSPIXP-6, StarLight, 6TAP

  • 2. IPv6 Digital A/V Transmission

    • Based on the broadband IPv6 infrastructure and A/V platform of Chunghwa Telecomm

    • Using high-quality IPv6 network transmission technique and service mechanisms

    • Supporting high-quality free and variety IPv6 digital contents to general users and research networks, such as TANet,TWAREN and ASCC

    • Attracting more IPv4 customers to use IPv6 networks

  • 2. IPv6 Digital A/V Transmission(HiNet IPv6 A/V Transmission System)

  • • To construct IPv6 DNS root servers application servers and for TANet

    • To provide transparent IPv6 to IPv6, IPv4 to IPv6 and IPv6 to IPv4 communications

    • To provide TANet users to access IPv6 application software easily for promoting IPv6 technology effectively
