Superflex is the perfect solution for the road transport of industrial loads thanks to its judi-cious mix of modular and compact vehicles. In essence, Superflex, developed by NICOLAS and SCHEUERLE, associates a robust chassis, strong suspension and a steering angle of 60°. The chassis is designed to accept highly concentrated loads due to its platform length. This allows the transport of long loads whilst maintaining excellent manoeuvrability.

The telescopic platform effectively reduces theconvoy length in the event of empty return journeys. Furthermore, the inclusion of shiftable axle lines allows flexible loa-ding thanks to its even load distribution. Superflex is simple to use, allowing the semi-trailer to be quickly deployed. This results in a significant time saving for better productivity.

This compact semi-trailer sets itself apart thanks to several technical highlights. The advantages for drivers include its possible driving speed, simplicity of use, and efficiency in a sector demanding exceptional vehicles. The EuroCompact family offers a large selection of compact dollys, dolly trailers and platform trai-lers with wide boom recess in different numbers of axle lines and permissible axle loads. Payload is increased thanks to its robust yet lightweight

construction, giving the EuroCompact the best dead weight to payload ratio of its class. Furthermore, the compact construction allows a higher loading length with no increase in trai-ler length. The steering angles of 65° for the front axle and 60° for the rear to enhanced overall manoeuvrability.

The NICOLAS MDEL (Modular Europe Light) series of modules offers versatile transport solu-tions for all activities linked to heavy-duty trans-port: construction work, industrial loads, wind-mill parts, etc. A tailor-made deck allows the transport of plant machines: low loader, extra-low loader, narrow, wide, with gunwales, telescopic, with extensions. The platform can be delivered in the standard version or designed for special require-ments as necessary. All windmill parts, towers, bla-des and nacelles can be transported using special adaptors, platforms or beams designed to ensure

quick and simple logistic operations. Accessories such as bolsters allow the transport of long loads as well as concrete beams or tanks. All elements are designed with the demands of haulage in mind. Easy to drive, the NICOLAS MDEL is equally adept on-site, managing the demands of heavy-duty handling in 2 or 4 file confi-guration. More highly concentrated loads can be transported with the specially rein-forced MDEL R, whose load concentration has been increased by 30% compared to the standard MDEL.

The MDI / MDELI modular ranges (Modular Italy / Modular Europe Light Italy) were initially desig-ned to meet the requirements of our Italian and Spanish customers. Like the NICOLAS MDELI series, these two ranges are versatile solutions for all haulage-related activities. The MDI range has been specially designed with an extra-low platform, allowing special transports, for example of tramway trains. Its 2,540 mm width makes it even more manoeuvrable. Lower and more narrow or with extended axle base, MDI

and MDELI semi-trailers are very versatile, having also a multitude of decks and adaptor options.

The key feature of the MDE and MDED (Modu-lar Export / Modular Export Steered) ranges – the best dead weight to payload capacity ratio, means that it is suited to heavy goods transport and heavy-duty handling on site. A large number of accessories allow to configurate 2, 3, and 4

file combinations, as well as semi-trailers. They can be coupled to motorised modules and po-wer pack units, resulting in self-propelled trailers for handling on site. Historically the MDE ran-ge is the most widely used module worldwide.

The NICOLAS FLAT MDE range is ideally suited to transport high loads (for example tramways) thanks to its low loading platform – the lowest on the heavy modular market at 710 mm in thelowered position and 1,010 mm in the driving position. Its 2,900 mm width ensures

Today‘s vehicles need to constantly improve to meet new challenges. Loads are continuallybecoming heavier and more concentrated. With this in mind NICOLAS has evolved the MHD G2 modular range, whilst maintaining the trade-mark NICOLAS versatility and improving the technical specification for vehicles that can be

MHD SP (Heavy Duty Self-Propelled Modular) modular vehicles are equally well suited also for on-site operations. That means, du-ring a heavy goods road transport, the combination can be replaced by one or more motorised modules accompanied by power units. Thanks to the flexibility of the NICOLAS MHD

range , several configurations are possible: 2, 3 and 4 file combinations As well as individual mo-dular transporters which can be randomly cou-pled, mechanically coupled or arranged in loose coupling mode. The control technology hereby en-sures synchronous control of all transporter units.

Different steering modes are available thanks to a range of control programs: longitudinal, diago-nal, front- or rear-wheel steering, circle steering. Modes may be combined to achieve greater ma-noeuvrability. Parts may be combined in several combinations. Combination capacity can be im-proved by synchronising several trailers.

The MHD SPE (Electronic Steering Heavy Duty Self-Propelled Modular) is all the more versatile, as it can be coupled with MHD vehicles.

The PowerBooster system, developed by NICOLAS and SCHEUERLE, is equipped with shiftable drive axles and can be towed at 80 km/h or even be propelled by an equally shiftable PowerPackUnit (PPU). On road trans-port with inclines the motorised axles add some tractive effort, without monopolising a pushing truck. With the engine running, the additio-

nal power is automatically released when the speed drops and cuts out when it increases. The motorised axles are in free rotation up to 80km/h. Deployed on-site, the system is a very easy-to-use automated trailer. It can be coupled side-by-side in order to obtain more power in 4-filecombinations.

NICOLAS developed the Wide MHD and Widening MDE ranges with the aim of responding to local regulations. The product will be developed with widths and axle bases different to those of the European standards, dependent on the country of deployment. The capacity is unaffected and remains identical to the conventional MHD and MDE module

respectively. The Widening MDE module can be extended hydraulically from 3,460 mm to 4,900 mm on the same chassis base.

If a standard series truck can‘t deliver the performance required for more demanding transportation operations, NICOLAS has the answer – “the Tractomas“. The Guinness Book of World Records has in fact confirmed that the Tractomas TR 10x10, developed and produced by NICOLAS Industrie, have the highest tractive force in the world. With an unloaden weight of40 tons, this colossal truck can pull loads up to over 1,000 tons. The tried and tested Tractomas has been in use in difficult conditions (desert, Arctic, mining environments) all over the world

since the 1970s and has therefore demonstrated its durability. The most recent Tractomas left the production hall at Champs sur Yonne was spe-cially developed for the mining industry in order to transport four bins directly from the mine to the treatment site with demanding working cy-cles.

NICOLAS has a large range of military vehicles ranging from 15 to 100 tons payload capacity. NICOLAS develops specialised and innovative solutions for all Defence related requirements, such that each military vehicle is designed for operation in standard as well as in degraded condition. The semi-trailer SR PC 50 is equipped

with 6 axles, 4 of them are steered. The remai-ning two are fixed lifting axles. With its adjus-table platform – extendable in length and width – for transporting several loads as heavy tracked armoured vehicles, light wheeled armoured ve-hicles, artillery vehicles and 10 to 40 ft containers. This trailer is extremely versatile.

Material crushing was the first division of NICOLAS Industrie and as such benefits from our unrivalled experience. NICOLAS offers machines equipped with horizontal rotors to deal with harvest residues, roadsides, trimming and recycling.
