Michelangelo was discovered at the young age of thirteen by his master Lorenzo de’Medici. He was one of the first students enrolled in de’Medici’s original school of art. He was welcomed to the home of the Medici Family this helped shape young Michelangelo’s mind and make him a sure success. With the added component of the Medici Families hospitality he was exposed to all things fine in Florence and was skyrocketed up the social ladder.

When Lorenzo passed Michelangelo along with Lorenzo’s family were banished from the city of Florence. He life began to become a whirlwind of chaos. He went into hiding for many years fearing for his life. However, when he was 25 he came

upon an offer that would test all of his skills and become one of the pieces he is know for today.

Michelangelo, though dead, is still influencing art today. From him we learned different techniques in sculpting and architecture. One of his most famous builds was St. Peter Basilica. Thought It was completed after his death it is still known as one of his major achievements.
