school and each of us also

had a turu with

the

spent most of this time in Tokyo

so

she

could get

chiropractic treatments to

help

straighten

her spine.

She

took

her studies with

her

Paula

s t i l l has about 3 more weeks to f in ish her years

work

In April

we all went to

Osaka

to

attend our yearly convention.   t

had been several years since

we

had seen

some

of our missionaries and

longer for the children. Many did not recognize the girls

thrilled to

have

Norton, Kansas visi t

us

May

31.

Due

to

language

barrier

he got on a

local

train

by mistake so

he had a 95 hour ride to Sendai instead-of the hour express ride for

which

he

had bought

tickets.

But

we did

so much enjoy

his short

visit

ie have a Japanese visitor about every day. Alittle boy, beginning

to

vraHc good

by himself,

walks up the hill

and comes to our y^d fence

and

longingly looks

thru

at our

puppy. The

first

time he came

his

folks

looked all

over for

him. Now when

he

is

missing, they look here

first

The

first

Sunday

in July the 9 of

us

that hadn t sca ttered for thesummer from

the Tsuchidoi services,

had

a picnic. Vie

all

piled into the

Jeep

and

bounced 2^

hours-

to a very beautiful hiU

top

here we

had

our

worship

service and

lunch before

returning home for thenight serviced

This week Martha is near Tokyo in a camp for missionary children.^

She was so thrilled

and

excited about going, she said, Just think, this

is

the

first

time I m

going

to camp as-a

oaraper,

not just a tag-along.

Paula

went

with

Martha

to

Tokyo,

then she will go to Karuizawa, a

ain

resort,

for

5

days

so

the

doctor

can check

her

back.

Dr

Baker_said

and cook a few meals_

for

herself _

he

got busy

with

patients.

This trip kill be the girls

vacation

for

spent

3i weeks in Tokyo going to Dr Baker every W to

see if

she

could get

her

still has a ringing in

her

missionaries

Korea;

Fabers arrived back
