Updates to A Realm Reborn Main Scenario Offer Streamlined Starter Experience

NIER SERIES CROSSOVER RETURNS INFINAL FANTASY XIV:SHADOWBRINGERS PATCH 5.3

LONDON (24th April, 2020) – New information for FINAL FANTASY® XIV:Shadowbringers™ next major update, Patch 5.3 - Reflections in Crystal isavailable now following the most recent Letter from the Producer LIVEbroadcast. The next major patch for the critically acclaimed expansioncontinues the Shadowbringers storyline and introduces the next chapter inthe YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse alliance raid series.

Additionally, the main scenario of the original game, A Realm Reborn, will bestreamlined in Patch 5.3, offering an improved experience for new players asthey advance in the campaign toward expansion content.

Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida shared further details on contentplayers will experience in Patch 5.3:

●New Main Scenario Quests – The curtains raise for the final act of the FINALFANTASY XIV: Shadowbringers main scenario questline.

●Main Scenario Questline Update: A Realm Reborn – The main scenarioquestline in A Realm Reborn will be reworked to give new players a morestreamlined experience as they progress to Heavensward and beyond.Additionally, players will be able to fly in A Realm Reborn areas uponcompletion of “The Ultima Weapon” quest.

●New YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse Alliance Raid – Following Patch 5.1’s TheCopied Factory, this next NieR-inspiered alliance raid, titled The PuppetsBunker will unravel further mysteries of the machine lifeforms on the First.

●New Dungeon: The Heroes’ Gauntlet – Players can tackle this newchallenge alongside fellow adventurers, or a party of non-player characters,using the Trust system.

●New Trial: Parties of eight players can challenge this new challenging trialbattle in both normal and extreme difficulties.

●Save the Queen Questline Updates – Players can enhance weapons obtainedin the first chapter of this ongoing quest series as they explore an all-newarea. Additionally, new large-scale battle content will be added as part of theupdate.

●New “Chronicles of a New Era” Quest: The Sorrow of Welt – Part of theRuby Weapon series, players can enjoy a story-focused experienceculminating in a special event battle.

●Ishgard Restoration Update – The third phase of restoration beginsfollowing the efforts of the Skybuilders. Skybuilder Rankings return, withnewitems for players to craft and new achievements for top contributors to therestoration.

●New Beast Tribe Quests – A new crafter-focused questline featuring thedwarves.

●New Game+ Updates – The updated A Realm Reborn main scenario andother quests are now available for players to revisit while keeping yourcurrent character and level.

●New Battle Content: Unreal Trials – Players will be able to challengepowered-up primals from earlier expansions that are ready to fight againstlevel 80 heroes. Unreal Trials will feature one primal fight which will changewith each patch, beginning with Shiva in Patch 5.3. Defeating the primal eachweek gives players the chance to complete a new mini-game, with those whoemerge triumphant receiving tokens to exchange for prizes.

●Crafter and Gatherer Updates – New custom deliveries, updates toRowena's House of Splendors, and an update to the Skysteel Tools questlineheadline several crafter and gatherer updates.

●Job Adjustments for PvE and PvP, System Updates, and more.

Additionally, a bonus episode in the popular ‘The Creation of FINAL FANTASYXIV: Shadowbringers’ series was announced, set to debut on the official FINALFANTASY XIV Online YouTube Channel on Thursday 30th April. In this extraspecial episode focused on YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse, Naoki Yoshida, YosukeSaito and YOKO TARO sit down to discuss how the NieR collaboration cameabout, and what players should expect from future instalments.
