G.A.A. and Pep Block PARTICIPATORS AND SPECTATORS

Orange and black mittens . . . new cheers . . . enthusiasm above all characterized our 1971 pep block. With little to cheer about the members still helped our varsity cheerleaders to capture the Bi-County trophy.

Health Careers, Library and A.V. Aids SEE ME, SHHH ME, HEAL ME

Our school's only service organizations are the Library and A.V. Aids who give up their study halls to do odd jobs for the Librarian and teachers. They are to be commended for their hard work and loyalty. New to the school this year, the Health Careers Club has provided a forum for our future nurses and doctors.

The baseball team topped off a bad season by beating out LaVille for the county championship. The Cavaliers put an end to the Lancers long winning streak.

The cross-country team finished the season with a fine 12-1 record for dual meets. Next year's team will be much better with all of the squad returning.

VARSITY: KNEELING: Mike Bauer, Jim Bauer, Larry Peters, Doug Mikesell, Bruce Snyder, Steve Crowel. STANDING: Coach Mc-Intire, Manager John Matzat, Mike Bauer, Stu Manchester, Dennis Reinholt, Rich Ruhnow, Steve Reinholt, Greg Dolezal, Managers Lynn Flora and Jeff Clifton.

Culver's varsity basketball team suffered a hard season for the second year in a row. The 70-71 squad did manage to better last year's record by two wins. The Cavaliers ended the season with a 4-16 record.

Junior Mike Bauer led the squad with a 17 point average and was the only Culver player to make the all-county team. Next year's squad will be a tough contender in the newly formed Three Rivers Conference. All but four of the varsity will be returning and battling for a starting position with some of the members of the B-team that finished with a record of 10-11.

The Cavalier's first win of the year was a surprise upset over Mishawaka Marian. John Glenn was Culver's next victim at Homecoming. Culver then topped South Central for their third win of the season. Oregon-Davis was blown out of Culver in the last home game in which all but one person scored.
