Most Chrisans will probably never experience such a dramac miracle. Like Elijah, we await the manifestaon of God in other moments. Perhaps the biggest challenge for the believer is to be constantly auned to the possible presence of God in the everyday events of life. This is a stance that takes some people years to develop. Others seem to find the Lord easily in the simple things. As the week unfolds, let us look for the presence of God in the lile things around us. Perhaps, like Elijah, we will be surprised at what we find. And, like the disciples, we can add our voice to the confession, Truly you are the Son of God.Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co. Psalm — Lord, let us see your kindness, and grant us your salvation (Psalm 85).

Second Reading — To the Israelites belong the covenants, the law, and the patriarchs; and from them comes the Christ (Romans 9:1-5).

Gospel — As Jesus walked on the sea, the disciples were terrified (Matthew 14:22-33).

THE PRESENCE OF GOD

After the miracle of Jesus walking on water, the disciples exclaimed, “Truly, you are the Son of God” (Matthew 14:33). Most Christians will probably never experience such a dramatic miracle. Like Elijah, we await the manifestation of God in other moments. Perhaps the biggest challenge for the believer is to be constantly attuned to the possible presence of God in the everyday events of life. This is a stance that takes some people years to develop. Others seem to find the Lord easily in the simple things. As the week unfolds, let us look for the presence of God in the little things around us. Perhaps, like Elijah, we will be surprised at what we find. And, like the disciples, we can add our voice to the confession, “Truly you are the Son of God.” Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time- Stewardship

Elijah recognized the voice of God not in the strong and heavy wind,

not in the earthquake, and not in the fire,

but in a tiny whispering sound. May we

find enough quiet in our clamorous world

to hear His voice and discern what He is

calling us to do and be. .

Vision: To make God, Father, Son & Holy Spirit—known, loved and

served.

Mission: St. Bartholomew is committed to forming dynamic Catholic

Christian disciples through prayer, the Word, Sacraments and

Evangelization.

The parish office will be open from 8 AM to 12 noon each day to

take your calls and answer questions. The front door of the church

will be opened from 8 AM to 12 Noon Monday thru Friday. Your are

welcome to go in and pray. Please take care of yourself and your

family and follow the guidelines for protecting them.

Mass Msgr. Martin continues on YouTube:

10:30 AM. Please maintain social distancing. People from the

same household may sit together.

Please make plans to attend Mass at one of the regular

scheduled times. If there is an overflow, we will have the

church.

St. Benedict Catholic Thanks Our Congregation for their Support The SBCS 5 Grand Raffle, a first-time event, was a success and the team at St. Benedict would like to say thank you. The prayers and financial report pushed us over the top. Covid – 19 has taken its toll on our community and altered how we do everything. The end of the year push helped us enter 2020-21 “St. Benedict Strong”. Thank you. School starts August 12 and student’s Pre-k 3 & 4 through 8th grade still have time to sign-up. Please feel free to contact Rhonda Krehling at 251-986-8143 at the St. Benedict Catholic School Main Office for more information.
