Club Round-up 2015 www.nissansportz.club

The nissansportz club has had another great year – with events going on it is easy to have missed some of it, so

as the year draws to a close - here is a roundup of what our members have been up too.

Winter Photo Competition - February

With many of the cars snuggled away for the winter – it was time to celebrate those which fight the winter

months. The club ran a fun competition with entry open to all to post up the best picture of Nissans in the

winter. We had lots of great submissions, finally settling on three winners. Best International, Best Pro Am

and best members photo. Congratulations to 350Zealous, Alex_C and 350doc

1st Place – 350z in the US Winter – 350Zealous

2nd Place – Best Pro-Am – Alex_C

3rd Place – Best Member – 350doc

First Mod Day – February 21st

Cars were soon out and about at the first Mod

day of the year with 19 cars braving the winter sunshine. The modifications varied from a black marker pen, to

fitting a reversing camera, working on a Carbon roof and resetting Windows. Great Breakfast, great company.

Duxford May Car Show – May 3rd

The clubs annual visit to the Duxford May Car show is one of the highlights in our annual event calendar, although the weather was not kind on our journeys in. By mid-afternoon it started to brighten up a bit, the arrivals of a brand new GTR Anniversary Edition certainly warmed things up.

10 Years of nissansportz.

In December the club launched its 10 Yearz campaign to recognize those members who have been active and played a part in the clubs history. Those members who reach this milestone are awarded the 10 Yearz badge, recognizing their achievement.

See East Anglia (SEA) – May 15th to 17th

Starting from near Ipswich on Saturday morning, and with the weather set fair, the tour took a circuitous route through Constable Country at Flatford nature reserve and up to Bury St Edmonds via the coastal town of Southwold. Some of the answers to the clues were straightforward, others were fiendishly difficult! A couple of vehicles decided to pursue a more picturesque route than required by the instructions, and consequently added significant mileage. The real route had been impressively planned, with not a speed camera in sight! Sunday dawned fair and the route took us into Norfolk, the delights of Thetford forest, up to Castle Acre Priory and back down to Mildenhall in convoy. We had taken in parts of 4 counties over 247 miles in one and a half days, the scenery was beautiful and the roads dry.

Knebworth Sports Car and Classics Show – June 21st

A first for the club the Knebworth Park Father's day car show, the other side of Stevenage.

A few members took part, parked amongst the Historic cars, vintage and American Muscle.

It was a great day, the weather was kind, and there was a lot of attention by the general public towards the three Nissans. The GTR was probably the most popular car at the event. It all culminated in runners up spot as best Car Club, ahead of other clubs from TVR and Ferrari

Second Mod Day – June 27th

The second mod day of the year was a great success in the blazing sunshine of a summers day in June, the attendees set about on the cars while tucking into what is now a famous breakfast.

Sharing ideas and great company.

Simply Japanese Beaulieu – August 2nd

It was early on a sunny day in Southampton when members met for the drive into Beaulieu, through the stunning countryside around the New Forest with its wild ponies watching on, the silence disturbed for a while by the rumble of Japanese sports cars.

At the peak including adopted owners there were 8 cars attending the event - a good day was had as everyone had a chance to catch up again. A look around the national motor museum and ice cream in the August sunshine.

Thanks to our Traders!

nissansportz would like to thank its loyal traders for their continued support throughout the year.

Car Fest South – August 28th-30th

nissansportz attended Carfest South at Laverstoke Park Farm for the third year running in August. There was heavy rain before and during the event which meant "interesting" times were had trying to get the rear wheel drive cars into the event and up and down the muddy hill to the stand. We

had a good mix of 5 cars each day on show and our turn out was 100%. The live music, quality food, great atmosphere and numerous show cars more than made up for the Glastonbury like weather.

Run2 Europe – August 28th-September 1st

Starting from the Midlands bang on 7.57am.... heading down to Kent and the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel Le Ferne. This was to be the big one.

The bulk of the group met up in Ashford for the first of many top ups of tanks. The next few days would see adventures around Europe, France heading to Spain and back home again.

Members reported covering a staggering 2000+ miles in their Zeds. This was to be an epic Journey

Third Mod Day – September 26th

Another great Mod day in Surrey, lots happening. New liners and driver's window fix on a 350z, new Stereo hook up to parking camera's on a Nissan pickup and detailing a plenty, loads of chat and a great breakfast.

The weather gods were even kind for the last Mod day of 2015.

nissansportz XMAS Party – November 28th

The social calendar finished in Kettering for the AGM and Christmas Party. A 20’s theme night with Food, Dancing and Table games.

We are proud to say some members were going to bed just a few hours before others were at breakfast.

A great night with great people. To end the year.

Nissan Motorsports Round-Up.

The club introduced a new motorsports section on the forum for 2015. With direct links to RJN, Nismo and later in the year Doran Racing in the states. 2015 Proved again to be an amazing year for Nissan powered cars. RJN had amazing success with their superbly prepared and run GTR’s. Sir Chris Hoy won the LMP3 class in the European Le Mans Series. Mixed fortunes for the Doran racing team of 370z’s. Keep an eye in 2016 on the Motorsports news feed for the latest Nismo news from around the world as it happens.

Finally…… Thank you – one and all, none of these events would be possible without the organization, and commitment of the members to attend events.

We had some great times this year, even when the weather was not as kind as it could be the members were still out in force.

…and planning is well under way for events in 2016.
