Fortis Healthcare Limited is an established chain of super specialty hospitals based in Delhi, also available in Amritsar, Kolkata, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, Mohali, Jaipur,Chennai,Kota,Bangalore, Gurgaon.

FORTIS FOUNDATION

• Established in November 2005, the Fortis Foundation mainly focuses on healthcare which continues to be a major concern in our country. It makes a conscious effort towards linking its initiatives with other important issues like environment and education.

SCOPE    As part of its efforts to ensure its reach to the community the Foundation,• Creates awareness on Mother and Child Health.• Organizes numerous Health camps..• Trains and educates children and adults on preventive healthcare.• Reaches out to people living in rural and remote areas. • Provides subsidized medical care and relief in disaster situations.

PROJECT SEWA

• Being the largest healthcare provider, Fortis took up the responsibility and utilized its capabilities to reach out, help and manage the healthcare needs of the affected people. Several voluntary batches of Doctors, Nurses & paramedics from our various Fortis hospitals were organized and huge consignment of medicines (General medicine & inject able for both adult & pediatrics) and consumables were sent along with them.

GOLDEN AGE CLUB

• Golden Age Club is a special effort by Fortis Foundation to express gratitude and appreciation towards our elders. As members of this exclusive club, senior citizens have the privilege of utilizing world-class medical facilities at special concessions and discounts across a range of specialties at the Fortis Network Hospitals. Specialists, supported by the most modern facilities and a friendly, compassionate medical staff serve member patients with utmost care and reverence.

DISASTER MANAGEMENT• Fortis Foundation has adopted a phase wise approach to the disaster management program within the organization.

• During the Bihar floods (2008), Fortis employees contributed a day’s pay towards relief activities for the affected people. A team of employees even travelled to the affected areas and helped to provide possible medical care to the victims.

Medical Relief for Leh Flash Floods

• In August 2010, hundreds of people were killed and many others went missing after heavy rain triggered flash floods, devastating Leh in the Ladakh region.

• After due deliberations with the concerned organizations and officials, Fortis Foundation contributed a large consignment of medicines and consumables through the NGO Ritinjali. 

Gramin Swasthya Yojna

• This is a unique scheme under which the Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad and Jaipur offer discounts on the total bill amount to patients from rural areas taking high end treatment at the facility. This is aimed at making basic healthcare facilities accessible to those who find it difficult to approach the bigger towns for the want of money & resources.

Health Camps• Each year, all the Fortis network hospitals organize several camps on different health concerns based on the need of a community. In FY 2011 -12, 943 camps were held across 8 states and 107010 people were covered through them. In FY 2012-13, 455 health check camps were held by Fortis Network Hospitals and 1.62 lakh people benefitted from them. Through these camps, the facilities use the opportunity to create awareness on different topics which help people take required measures to protect themselves from preventable diseases.

Free treatment to another Acid Attack victim from Punjab; March 2013

• In a horrific acid attack 23 year old Amanpreet Kaur of Bathinda, Punjab suffered severe  burn injuries on her face when two men wearing monkey caps threw acid on her.

• Fortis Foundation is bearing the entire expenses of her treatment (medical, surgical and psychological). Amanpreet is currently being treated at Fortis Hospital Mohali.

BABY ROONA

• Two-year-old Baby Roona Begum is suffering from Hydrocephalus, And Fortis (Gurgaon) took the initiative of her entire treatment, free of cost and followed-up surgery during her second visit to FMRI, bringing down her head circumference to 57 cm, from an unprecedented 94 cm.
