November 2014

Dear friend,

People with albinism as well as parents, grandparents and loved ones – everyone affected by albinism takes a journey toward acceptance and understanding. Hurdles, such as low vision and the stigma of difference, can be challenging to overcome. That’s why NOAH’s mission is to provide information and support to help members of the albinism community throughout their journeys. As you read through the testimonials, please consider a financial gift to help us continue to help the albinism community.

NOAH Changes Lives!

A 12-year-old girl connects with others who know what it’s like to be the different one, the one with albinism. “My keyboard clacks in tune with the buzzing of my phone – buzzing from an overload of texts from the new friends I made. Four friends I didn’t know a few months ago. Four friends I wouldn’t have if I hadn’t gone to my first NOAH conference.”

It’s not always easy to comprehend and accept albinism. Connecting with the community at NOAH events gives us the strength to face the challenges albinism brings.

A parent is given hope. “This was our third conference in 10 years. It is the first time I haven’t felt heartbreak. I realize how NOAH has helped me come to terms with OCA. Our concerns have really changed, more healthy now…”

An adult with albinism finds a reinforced feeling of self-worth. Coming together with others with albinism reaffirms “that I am OK just the way I am.”

A grandparent gets important facts. “The outreach program for people living with albinism provided us valuable information in our time of need, guiding us with the answers to our questions, and helping plan our granddaughter’s journey.”

These life-changing and life-affirming moments would not happen if NOAH did not exist.

Your contribution will enable NOAH to continue to serve the albinism community. Join us in making a difference in someone’s life by making a donation to NOAH today. Your kindness means the world to us.

Thank you for your generous support.

With warmest regards,

Pam McGonigle Michael McGowan Board Chair Executive Director
