Nodularizing – Mechanism Nodularizing is a simultaneous desulphurizing & deoxidizing

Mg + S= MgS --------- Desulphurization Mg + O = MgO ------- DeoxidationMg + Si + 3O = MgSiO3

2Mg + Si + 4O = Mg2SiO4

After this the growth of graphite proceed as nodules
