Long-standing experienceNomatek has been producing equipment for the fisheries industry since 1979, primarily in stainless steel. Twenty years ago Nomatek began to develop and produce water treatment equipment for both drinking water and wastewater, since then Nomatek has built over 50 drinking water purification plants in the Faroes. Over the last decade, Nomatek has also developed wastewater treatment solutions using filtration and flotation.

The components include scraper conveyors, rotary drum filters, beltfilters and flotation units. Nomatek delivers complete units with pumps, valves, sensors and a full PLC controlled electrical panels.

nomatek scraper conveyors Nomatek scraper conveyors are manufactured in stainless steel 1.4307 (AISI 304L) or corrosionresistant steel 1.4404 (AISI 316L). Process water is led directly into the scraper conveyor where it is separated using a coarse filter, for example Ø 5 mm or Ø 10 mm. Solids are scraped off and channelled towards further processing along with byproducts. Our scraper conveyors are well suited to floor installation and collecting solids from, for example,

floor drains. Nomatek designs the size and capacity of units. Nomatek scraper conveyors are already installed at a range of fish processing plants.

nomatek fLotation systemsNomatek now offers a full wastewater and process water concept. Following prefiltration, for example using a Nomatek beltfilters, process water is pumped in at the bottom of

the flotation tank through large nozzles, which bring the entire water mass into circulation. At the same time, air is inject ed through specially designed air jets, which blow directly into the tank at a tangent aiding circulation (IAF Induced Air Flotation). This leads to the separation of solids by sedimentation. Solids are then automatically transferred to beltfilters and air bubbles bring fat particles and other solids to the surface. mixed with pressurized air in a special ly designed air reactor. When the mixed water is pumped back into the main stream millions of microbubb les are generated (DAF Dissolved Air Flotation). These microbubbles raise a large proportion of fat particles to the surface. Rotating scrapers skim both surfacesolids and fat off the surface and into a mechanism, which pumps them into the byproducts. Combining IAF and DAF has enabled Nomatek to optimise the use of area in the process generating optimum

hydraulic surface loading and thereby optimum purification. This system can be enhanced using pH adjustment and flocculation in order to increase the efficiency of the purification process. With these additions the Nomatek system is capable of removing over 90% of fat and suspended solids. We have our own analytical tools, which enable Nomatek engineers and technicians to adjust the controls and puri fication for optimum results.
