DO YOU NEED HELP

CUTTING YOUR TOENAILS?

Wednesday, January 17th

9:00 am

Chantell will be at Rendezvous Pointe to cut toenails. The charge is $10.00 and will be on a first come, first serve basis.

There is no crime in rhyme.

I plan to hide this poem with camouflage and make it appear a shimmering desert mirage with visual tricks like equestrians in dressage prancing and parading in our neighbor’s garage. There is no crime in rhyme. I will shape a completely complicated collage disguised as an artistic, multi-photo montage from which one may attempt to finally dislodge any significant meaning from this verbal barrage. There is no crime in rhyme. I move these wounded words to necessary triage knowing they would much prefer intense massage instead of my nefarious gift of subtle sabotage as I scream loudly at them with a smile: “Bon voyage!” There is no crime in rhyme; I use it all the time. —C. F. Kelly

How to play Sudoku

The goal of Sudoku is to fill in a 9×9 grid with digits so

that each column, row, and 3×3 section contain the

numbers between 1 to 9. At the beginning of the

game, the 9×9 grid will have some of the squares

filled in. Your job is to use logic to fill in the missing

digits and complete the grid. Don’t forget, a move is

incorrect if:

• Any row contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9

• Any column contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9

• Any 3×3 grid contains more than one of the same number from 1 to 9

Sitting is the New Smoking!

A sedentary lifestyle contributes to 34 chronic diseases.

“Those who spent the most time in chairs had a 147 percent increased risk of a cardiovascular

event, compared to those who sat the least. (8000,000 ppt in study)”

“Regular exercise is not enough to undo the damage.”

“The body was designed to be up and moving; our systems work best when we are on our

feet.”

“After a scant 90 seconds of sitting, important cellular responses that sensitize cells to insulin

begin to switch off, so you don’t process glucose as easily; after 30 minutes in a chair, your tri-

glycerides start to climb. But when you stand up, the muscles of your legs and back engage;

your metabolic rate increases; your body processes cholesterol more efficiently. Carrying your

own weight, it turns out, is one of the healthiest things you can do.”

Benefits: become more cheerful, creative, focused; weight loss.

“Getting out of your chair and walking around for ten minutes every hour can counteract the

ills of oversitting and improve work productivity.”
