California Recently passed Assembly Bill 306 which addresses school enrollment for active duty military families. This bill prohibits a school district of residence from prohibiting the transfer of a pupil who is a child of an active duty parent to a school in any school district, if the school district to which the parents of the pupil apply approves the application for transfer.

Applications May Be Filed Based on The Following Reasons:• Parent/Guardian Employment

• Childcare

• Specialized Programs

• Sibling Attendance

PLEASE NOTE:Filling out an Interdistrict Permit Application does NOT

guarantee your child a space in the requested school district.

New incoming Interdistrict Permits are approved on space availability.

APPLICATION PROCESS1. Complete the Interdistrict Permit Application and

supporting documents for Outgoing Students at your home school district of residence.

2. Keep a copy of the confirmation for your records.

3. Check your email inbox, spam, or junk email regularly for correspondence from the school district.

4. Take the Permit Approval Form to the gaining school district.
