Wedding venue & estateNooitgedacht is a family owned and managed historical Cape Dutch wine estate with a homestead and outbuildings that date back to 1774. Welcoming guests with old worldly charm, warmth and history.

The original cellar with its rustic atmosphere is used for the functions and can accommodate 120-260 guests with a dance floor and 300 without. Adjacent the cellar we have a faunum/chapel for the ceremony which can accommodate 170 guests or the bride may prefer the ceremony in our beautiful gardens. Nooitgedacht is 4 km outside of Stellenbosch on the R 304, also known as the Koelenhof Road.

The Wirth family pride themselves in that a personal touch can be found in every aspect of Nooitgedacht’s service with menus and other important details tailored to suit your personal needs in making your function a unique and special occasion.

A distinctive feature of Nooitgedacht’s menu is the use of fresh produce that is in season and the special deboned leg of lamb on the spit. The starters can be served outside as finger-food together with drinks, or served at the tables. The main course is served buffet style with two or three serving points determined by the amount of people. Plated option is also available. Dessert can also be buffet style or served at the tables. Coffee is served afterwards.

One of the outbuildings adjacent the Manor house has been lovingly converted into three luxury en-suite rooms affectionately named Bella, Milu and Annie each with their own unique themed décor detail. The bridal suite is situated in the Manor house with a beautiful Victorian bathroom and double doors opening on the front stoep.

You are more than welcome to come visit the farm to ensure that it complies with your needs please give us a courtesy call beforehand. Viewing on Fridays and Saturdays will only be permitted between 10h00 and 13h00 unless otherwise arranged.

Winter promotion – When you book the venue for the winter season

you will receive the bridal suite and 3 double guestrooms for the use of the

day of the wedding and overnight stay with compliments from the Nooit-

gedacht team. (Breakfast not included) Tentative bookings will be kept

for no longer then 5 working days. The booking will only be confirmed,

once the deposit has been paid and the contract has been signed.

Venue Hire includes:

• Plastic chairs (160) to use as a second set for outside ceremony.

• The setting of the tables (cutlery,crockery,glasses)

• Cleaning of the venue before and after the function

• Up lighting against the wall in the venue.

• The main hall is fully air-conditioned. We have a large 80 Kva generator

in case of power failure.

• 3 sun umbrellas for pre drinks

• 4 white slate garden benches

• Red Carpet in the chapel area – not to be used elsewhere

• 2 pre drink tables (no linen) (please supply décor at pre drink area)

• Maitre’D for the evening of the wedding

• Security guards are included on the evening of the function

• Facilities are available up to 1 am; thereafter an additional fee of R2500

p/h (excl vat) will be charged and are only available up to 2 am.

• Fanum/Chapel – can seat up to maximum of 170 guests to the doors

• We do not supply any linen/serviettes

• The venue facilities are exclusively yours for the whole day

Set up can commence on the following times:

As the bridal couple paid for the venue hire for one day, set up is allowed

from 08H00 the day of the wedding. If there is no function a day before,

then the venue can be set up beforehand. Please arrange with Nooit-

gedacht. Set up must be finished 2 hours before the function/ceremony.

Clean up the next morning before 08H00 if there is another function

booked or as arranged with Nooitgedacht Management.

We have a passion for cakes and bakes and would love to create

your beautiful wedding cake and special dessert table/ candy bar

for your special day.

Service charge includes

• Fully stocked bar, cash or open

• Barmen, depending on the amount of guests

• Bar waiters are highly recommended and can be arranged at

R50 an hour per waiter

• Cocktails on request @ additional charge depending on the

type of cocktail

We do not supply any décor or linen for predrink area.

You are allowed to bring in your own wines, champagne and juice at

no corkage charge, but the Nooitgedacht Sauvignon Blanc @ R45/

bottle is compulsory

Bridal SuiteThe bridal suite is a large en - suite room in the Manor house

with century old décor with a Victorian styled bathroom.

The room has 2 doors opening to the stoep which overlooks

the beautiful gardens of the estate.

Three packages available for weekday & Friday functions

Package A: R2500

• Use of the room from 11:00am on the wedding day

• Light lunch for the bride and bridesmaids

• Overnight stay

• Breakfast for two

• Bottle of champagne

Package B: R1450

• Use of the room from 11:00am on the wedding day

• Light lunch for the bride and bridesmaids

Use of the room from 11:00 am on the day of the wedding to get

dressed.

Check in time will depend on if there is a wedding the previous

day to be confirmed by Wilna.

Important information to consider

• A deposit (venue hire) must be paid and a contract must be completed and signed to confirm function date

• No refund of your venue deposit will be made if cancellation occurs within 6 months prior the function date

• Final food bill to be finalized and paid for prior to your function. Failure to do so will relate to lose your breakage deposit and a penalty fine will be charged. Where after further action will be taken.

• Confirmation of the total number of guests must be done five days before the function unless otherwise organized with us

• If the total number of guests is less than 120 people for Saturday functions, the client will be expected to pay the difference

• Furniture in the venue is not to be moved without confirming with management

• Any damages to property and breakages will be charged to the client

• No nails or prestik may be used on the walls and trees

• No fresh rose petals are allowed on the venue floor. Only dry petals allowed

• No feathers or paper confetti allowed. Only fresh or dried flowers

• No microphone system available

Brides and function coordinators will be held responsible

to convey the above information to decorators and all

other relevant parties. If these rules are not adhered,

Nooitgedacht reserves the right of admission.

When the Bridal couple are using a coordinator to arrange

their special day on their behalf, we need to meet with

the coordinator and set up a checklist with them. Please

advise us if you use a coordinator when you book the

venue.
