Members of the Noon Exchange Club and some of their family members gathered on the Friday prior to Hurricane Florence to pack snack boxes for the Mooresville Operations Center, Mooresville Police Department, Iredell County Sheriff’s Mooresville office, the Mount Mourne VFD, South Iredell VFD, Lake Norman VFD and Shepherd VFD. After packing the goodies, the boxes were delivered to each location to help these first responders as they planned for a long night of assisting those in need.

NORTH FAYETTEVILLE CLUB DEFIES HURRICANE FLORENCE

Why let a hurricane cancel the club’s annual gala? Well, it didn’t! If anything, it brought club members closer together to give thanks and forge ahead. Parts of Fayetteville were destroyed by Florence and as soon as the gala was finished, these Exchangites hit the road to help those in distress. Fannie McWilliams,

Division One Director, and long-time member, is instrumental each year in making this fundraiser a success, and she insisted that the gala go forward—even though the floodwaters had not yet subsided. JD Ketterman, Division Six Director, is shown with Club President Kristi Turmato. After a fantastic dinner and guest speaker, door prizes were given out. Shoes came off and attendees hit the dance floor for a well-deserved evening of some relief from Florence. A beautiful candy table is always present at the gala.

Exchange Club Members have a great time dancing to great music at the North Fayetteville Club Gala.

PVAC was presented a Mercury Sedan by the Military Order of the Purple Heart to be used to transport Veterans to VA hospitals and to deliver meals to those disabled. It is also a means of transportation to buy groceries. Freightliner brought in their newest tractor-trailer painted to honor vets. The American Legion Color Guard presented the colors.
