SYNOPSIS:  In March 23, 2005, at 12:30 AM, an elderly Clifton, Virginia woman witnessed what appeared to be a classic saucer hovering above her neighbor’s house during a thunderstorm.

OBJECT DESCRIPTION: Witness: “We (and her husband) had a power outage last night and I was awakened by the answering machine clicking on and off as the power tried to recover, and then it went out completely. I walked over to the front door and opened it to see if it was raining and I saw a very large object hovering over a nearby house about 1/8 of a mile away. It was larger than the house and seemed to be at an angle to my view with the bottom exposed and had lights all around it, evenly spaced. Upon a lightning flash - it disappeared!”  The witness was facing South at the time of the sighting and the incident lasted just a few seconds.

WEATHER INFORMATION: The temperature in Clifton was 44 degrees, winds out of the NE at 13 mph, humidity 81%, cloudy with rain. [According to Dominion Virginia Power, their electrical outage legend summary dating 3/23/05 showed that there were about 24 homes that were affected by this storm in the Northern Virginia's Fairfax County area.]

8SYNOPSIS: On 11/27/2009, at approximately 07:30 PM, a husband and wife saw a strange, glowing object appearing to be landing behind trees.

OBJECT DESCRIPTION: Jo and Janet were in their car waiting to make a left turn and both were startled by a glowing, green object, descending behind the treetops. They were approximately 320 feet from the sighting and from their vantage point looking straight at the other side of the intersection. The UFO was slowly hovering from right to left at a

45 degrees angle and lasted about 5 seconds before losing sight of it behind the trees. Object was neon green and teardrop shaped and its tail flashed three rapid sequences of white strobes prior losing sight of it. As they drove on to a dead-end street, they both saw residents looking outward and pointing towards the area of the sighting.

WEATHER INFORMATION: The temperature in Richmond, Virginia was 42.1 degrees, winds out of the NW at 8.1 mph, humidity 51%, clear sky.

A similar UAP incident was seen two years earlier in Charlotte, North Carolina on January, 23, 2007. Around 08:00 PM, Jim Neal witnessed a bright blue-green object with a white tail. It was also flashing and twinkling. Source: The Charlotte Observer, Jan. 24, 2007. Cont…

9SYNOPSIS: Witnesses reported that on 08/09/12 at approximately 10:45 pm, all observed a series of orange lights/orbs over a lake in Union Hall, VA.

INTERVIEW/STATEMENTS: Three young men were on a dock located on the southwestern shores of Smith Mountain Lake. They all found their attention suddenly drawn skyward by a series of strange lights that were slowly hovering above the lake. The young men announce to everyone inside the cabin about the strange lights they saw. One of the young men’s mom “SM”, her sister and her dad all scurried out and over to the dock to observe a string of 10 orange lights ascending up into the night sky and disappearing into the clouds. The sighting lasted approximately 10 minutes and

the UAPs did not generate any sound nor any propulsion source was evident. The orbs were spaced much further apart and only two were visible at a time. SM: “As one disappeared at its highest point (into the clouds), another would come up from the horizon. Meanwhile, that would leave one at the halfway point. Two lights were the most we saw at a time but there were a total of ten over the 10 minutes. They all followed the exact same path and seemed to be quite evenly spaced” . I asked SM why she used the term “vessels” to describe these lights in her CMS Report? SM: “I’m not sure why I used that term...just assumed they were powered and were being piloted”.

WEATHER INFORMATION: The temperature in Union Hall, VA was 75.9 degrees, winds out of the SSE at 6.9 mph, partly cloudy and visibility 10.0 miles.

Page 8: Norm Gagnon UFO cases 2013

SYNOPSIS: “SN” reported that on 10/14/12 at approximately 07:00 PM, through a jetliner’s window and as she was viewing the city lights, she saw a string of bright lights soaring above Richmond’s city scape.

INTERVIEW/STATEMENTS: As the jetliner was preparing for landing in Richmond International Airport from Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, SN was looking outside her window at the city lights below and noticed approximately 8 bright lights drifting in a serpentine pattern. After about 50 seconds, the lights shot straight up at an incredible speed and disappeared into the evening sky. SN also stated that these lights left behind some sort of residue that appeared to be dusty and smoke-like, similar to a jet trail. SN: “I did also hear the other passengers react with awe by the spectacle of these mysterious lights!”

WEATHER INFORMATION: The temperature in Richmond, VA was 68.0 degrees, winds out of the South at 10.4 mph with overcast and visibility 10.0 mi.

SYNOPSIS: “HC” 43 year old woman reported that on 7/3/13 at approximately 10:10 PM, from outside on her patio, she looked up and saw a bright, glowing sphere of light with a tail hovering above her backyard.

OBJECT DESCRIPTION: The glowing sphere was bright white, yellow-orange in color. Size: approx. 65cm/2 feet in diameter and hovered about 25 feet off the ground - near roof tops. The sphere also had an extension at the rear, as to a thin tail or “vertical stabilizer” that seems to be made from the same translucent substance; sphere’s core and motionless fin were radiating swirls of energy. HC: “The tail also seemed to be in 2 parts where by one was a bit shorter than the other, branching off or forking with one being a bit shorter”.

WEATHER INFORMATION: The temperature in Ontario, Canada was 71.6 degrees, winds out of the ENE at 5.8 mph, humidity 88%, clear and visibility 7.0 miles.

EVIDENCE/INVESTIGATION: Glowing anomaly - what it did not affect:

●Electricity to area homes, street lights or electronic devices.●No discharge of luminous gas, dust or related particles seen during flight.●No indication of heat burn traces, melting or warping to area home surfaces, trees, etc.●No “communication” including telepathy was experienced by any of the witnesses.●No noise was heard during its flight.●It was not a RC flying sphere helicopter, rotercraft or quadcopter UAV.●Either of her dogs (inside the house) barked or reacted strangely during this incident.

HC stated that the sphere was so bright that it lit up the area within its flight path, heading in a SE direction over her back yard and in between her neighbors' house. HC: “This object flew very slowly at roofline level and was in the area for about a minute to a minute and a half…I feel it was some sort of collection device as to a scout vehicle”. HC’s CMS report adds: “There also appeared to be a marbling effect continuously changing within the object which appeared to be swirling in a light of orange, yellow and white, as though it was chemicals or gasses not properly mixing.” A second witness did briefly see this object. HC: “One of my son’s friends saw this object from the front view only and did not see a tail, her sighting was very short (a few seconds) it flashed and pulsed 3 times, from how she described it, and shot off very quickly.”

0SYNOPSIS:: “PM”, a 16 year old reported that

on 6/25/12, he witnessed a large, bright object hovering in the night sky about 300 feet from his backyard and over the newer housing community next door.

OBJECT DESCRIPTION: Described as a massive, orange light hovering just behind nearby trees and shortly after, the UAP emitted a bright, white light beam.

WEATHER INFORMATION: The temperature in Berryville, VA was 62.6 degrees, winds out of the NNW at 4.6 mph, humidity 48%, scattered clouds, visibility 10 miles. Moon – Waxing Crescent (34% illuminated).

The witnesses (PM) and younger brother were watching TV. A little after midnight, PM noticed a strong light source radiating through their living room window. The glowing sphere was very large and it just stood there, stationary. Twelve minutes later, it emitted a white beam for about two minutes and he believed the beam may have ended at the ground level but his view was obstructed by backyard trees. Shortly after, the UAP blinked out and disappeared at 12:20 AM. PM: “The bright light was so large that it lit my backyard. It did not make any noise but the trees right below it did move and sway but there was really no heavy wind that night.”

4SYNOPSIS: On 01/03/2012, husband and wife witnesses a bright, circular light over their property and they pursued the moving UAP with their car. This case consist elements of high strangeness.

WEATHER INFORMATION: The temperature in Partlow, VA was 28.4 degrees, winds out of the NW at 11.5 mph, humidity 55% w/scattered clouds, visibility 10 miles. Moon Phase: Waxing Gibbous – 72% moon illuminated.

ON SITE INTERVIEW: I met with Randy and his wife Joyce at their home at 11:00am, January 27th. Joyce first began to describe what she saw as she drove up to the gate’s entrance around 06:45 pm, on the 3rd of

January. She noticed a bright pulsating light hovering over their 20 acres property and she first thought that the light was a Medevac helicopter but soon realized that it was not producing any noise. As she drove inside her home’s carport and parked the car, she entered the house and told her husband about the strange light. He immediately stepped out to see what was going on and he saw that the light had moved towards the back yard so he hurried back in to get his spotlight. Both of their dogs remained very quiet and undisturbed during this incident. Randy showed me where he utilized his Garrity 1M Candle PWR Rechargeable spotlight in his backyard when he first signaled the UFO which was positioned approximately 800 yards away and about 20 feet off the ground. After he flashed his spotlight on/off three times, the UFO dimmed down significantly for a few seconds then returned back to its full intensity. Cont…

Page 13: Norm Gagnon UFO cases 2013

Randy walked back into his backyard to get a better look at the light and he then turned on/off the spotlight three times again – UFO dimmed down and back up again. As he tried walking further, his path was quickly halted from what he describe as a dark brown “flying thing” that abruptly whooshed in front of him, from left to right, that made him jumped back a little. As he tried contemplating what just happened, he immediately noticed a large gliding, rectangular shadow being casted upon his yard by an object that he felt was hovering above him, blocking the moon light! This made him nervous but he was determined to find out what this light was. He and his wife decided to jump into their car and follow this mysterious light which was fleeing westward.

I asked them to retrace their path that they drove during the night of the UAP pursuit, and they agreed. I sat in the backseat of their white 2011 Ford Taurus as they begin driving out of their property and into the main road. Joyce stated that as they left their driveway that night, their car’s center console started to generate the strangest noise as to a crackling or high-pitch

rattling that lasted about 30 seconds. Were these entities trying to “communicate” with them? This was the first and last time they ever heard of this bizarre clatter.

Driving about four miles on the winding road and as we passed a harvested corn field, Randy pointed to the left side of the roadway to show me where they both saw a man standing next to his parked car: “This guy was just standing there in a daze next to his red Ford Taurus, with his head up looking at the sky, oblivious to us…he just kept looking up, frozen, as we drove by.” Cont.

CASE 34904 page

3A few yards away, we made a slight right onto Edenton Road/Co Rd 657 and Randy said that this was the spot that a coyote ran across the road, right in front of their car. Shortly after, we pulled over to view an empty field that had a row of young pine trees about 150 yards away with a forest that was further back. Randy and I exited the car and walked a few feet then he showed me where he saw the mysterious house with the UFO that apparently manifested itself into a different shape.

Randy: “That night, we both saw the white house with a black roof and black window shutters; it was well lit from the bright moon light. The UFO was to the left of the houseand further back just above the trees, and I took my spotlight and flashed at it a third time, it dimmed down but as it became brighter again, it changed into a different shape, a large bluish-white, glowing ring that had an oval disk at its center and this disk did reflect the moon light as well. A few seconds later, the ring disappeared!” He added that the UFO reappeared shortly after, in its original form but further to the right of the house and once again, it was on the move! They got into their car and followed the light for another 6 miles or so but got tired and turned around and drove back home. The total distance that was driven (one way) was 10.4 miles.

[Mysterious House]: Both Randy and Joyce have twice revisited that same location where they saw the ringed-UFO and have also driven the surrounded area to see if they could find the “phantom house” but with no luck. They both distinctively saw a light colored, two-story house with a black roof and shutters on that evening but mystified to what really happen during the whole UFO incident.

3 SYNOPSIS: “Paul” a 49 year old general manager at a convenient store in Roanoke, Virginia, reported that on 9/24/13 at approximately 06:30 AM, observed a total of 6 dark gray triangles with bright light at their centers, hovering and rapidly maneuvering overhead leaving behind some sort of shiny dust particles.

OBJECT DESCRIPTION: During a cigarette break, Paul saw an unusual bright star moving high overhead but soon realized that the light was part of a triangle’s base. The triangle was swiftly maneuvering in a geometrical fashion; forward, with a 90 degree turn then back again, completing the delineation. Within this outline, the UAP seems to be expelling some sort of dull, translucent particles as it was trying to fill this area in. Paul had caught the attention of a maintenance man (Gary) and they both watched this singularity. Paul: “We watched for a few more minutes and as our eyes adjusted to the night sky, we noticed 5 more triangles doing the same thing at about equal distances from each other. About 30 minutes, I had brought my cashier from in the store to observe with us, along with two other customers.”

At about 07:30 AM, the sun started to rise and both Paul and Gary observed two jet fighters coming from the northeast, flying very fast and leaving contrails behind. As the fighters approached the triangles, the UAPs immediately flew off to the southwest! Cont…

Page 16: Norm Gagnon UFO cases 2013

CASE 51233 page

They both also noticed another strange object described as a silver tube that was directly overhead but at a lower altitude from the triangles. Paul: “It appeared to move slowly like a blimp at first, then rose quickly and darted off to the southwest as well when the two jets got closer.”

Paul also noted that the very next day on 9/25/13, prior to the sunrise, same three witnesses saw the triangles again but for a shorter period of time for about 15 minutes, then the UAPs moved quickly to the north this time past the Blue Ridge Mountains. He added that these triangles did not make any sound.  WEATHER INFORMATION: The temperature in Roanoke, Virginia on 9/24/2013 was 55.9 degrees, winds out of the SSW at 3.5 mph. Conditions: Overcast, visibility 10.0 mi.

N. Gagnon 2013

CORRELATING CASES: [MUFON Case# 51052] 14 hours later, a series of approx. 50 triangular objects with blinking lights were seen flying over Richmond, VA, in a northeasterly direction by two witnesses.

SYNOPSIS: “Mike” a 53 year old man (and his son) reported that on 9/24/13 at approximately 08:30 PM, they observed a “fleet” of black triangles flying at a NE trajectory. OBJECT DESCRIPTION: An 11 year old boy was walking his family dog in his backyard and noticed strange triangular objects flying overhead. He ran in the house and told his dad about the UFOs that he just witnessed and his father (Mike) walked out to see for himself. They both stood and watched for about 30 minutes at the numerous triangular objects that hovered at a distance, scattered apart. Mike: “It was compelling on how many they were and we could see about 6 to 8 of these triangles visible at any given time…they flew about the same height and speed to our commercial planes but there were no contrails or noise that was heard during this time.” Cont…

On the same date, approx. 100 miles NE of the first triangles sighting in Roanoke, multiple triangles were also witnessed over Richmond, VA!

Page 18: Norm Gagnon UFO cases 2013

CASE 510523 page

Mike also stated that the triangles had red blinking lights at their centers and with lights at each corner that were blue, red and white. These objects were moving in the direction of a side of the triangle (the flat side being the front of the flight trajectory) and the point of the triangles were at the rear. The rearmost lights were blinking while the front two were steady. His dog did not react to these UFOs and there were no helicopters or military jets in the area during or after the sighting. WEATHER INFORMATION: The temperature in Richmond, Virginia was 53.1 degrees, winds direction: calm. Conditions: clear and visibility 10.0 mi.

SYNOPSIS: On Oct. 7, 2013, a 39 year old “Phillip” was outside his manufacturing plant taking a break and he noticed a glowing red object hovering at the distance horizon.

OBJECT DESCRIPTION: Bright, red sphere(s) moving right to left and back again for a few seconds then splitting in two. Phillip, a press operator, was outside on his break looking at the sky at the usual aircraft traffic and at around 09:10 PM, he saw a glowing, red object that appeared to be hovering horizontally, back and forth within a short distance, then it split apart becoming two orbs as they faded into the darkness. The sighting lasted 10 minutes and the orbs did not make a sound. A second witness supposedly saw this UAP as well but thought they were helicopters. Shortly prior to this sighting, Phillip said that a large jet along with a smaller one flew over the same area. Phillip: “these crafts were of what I assumed refueling plane much like the Lockheed C-130 Hercules though with the sound of jet engines, the lights on the aircraft were blinking. I enjoy aircrafts because my uncle was a navigator for F-14 Phantoms.” Cont…

In the same area of Virginia, 20 miles WSW of the Roanoke sighting.

Page 20: Norm Gagnon UFO cases 2013

Phillip also stated that two of his coworkers have said that they have seen something in the night sky previously the week before last. I asked Phillip if they be willing to share this information with me but they refused to comment.

WEATHER INFORMATION: Temperature- 53.6°F, humidity 82%, winds speed-calm, visibility-clear.
