On Saturday, July 12th, the installation
of the new playground at Blue Creek
began. This project came about after the
tragic loss of Vincenzo Rizzo, 5th Grader,
who passed away suddenly on Jan. 2,
2013.
The Rizzo family held several fundraisers
to raise money to redo the playground.
The installation of the new playground
brought together teachers, administrators,
students and graduates to pour concrete,
move
equipment,
spread mulch
and more.
The paving for
the new
basketball
courts will be
completed
shortly.
Principal
Annette Trapini
commented on
the new playground, “Generations of kids
will have memories, friendships and
inspire to be active. This will touch a lot of
lives.”

It’s 9:00 p.m. on a Sunday, you just remembered that you need to submit a benefits enrollment form to add your newborn child to insurance and the form needs to be turned in on Monday. You are chaperoning a field trip Monday and won’t be in the school or near a computer. No need to panic – HR forms are now easily found online and may be accessed from any computer without requiring a username and password. HR forms, policies and procedures have been placed online on the District internet page at www.northcolonie.org. Click on “Staff Resources” in the Quick Links column on the right hand side of the page. Forms are organized by type, such as Attendance, Benefits-Health Insurance and Compensation. Each form is also identified by group. For example, each union has a unique benefits enrollment form. If you are looking for the CSEA Non-Instructional benefits enrollment form, you would scroll down to Benefits – Insurance and find the form titled “Employee Benefits Enrollment Form CSEA NI (CSEA NI)”. Forms that may be used by more than one group are identified with the groups that may use that form. For example, the Leave Donation Form found in the Attendance section is identified as “Leave Donation Form (Mgmt-Conf, CSEA NI, CSEA Instr.).” This informs the reader that the Leave Donation Form may be used by Management-Confidential employees, CSEA Non-Instructional employees and CSEA Instructional employees (Teacher Aides and Computer Aides). Completed HR forms may be submitted in a number of ways:
Scan and email to [email protected]; Fax to 518-783-1707; or Send paper copies through interoffice or
postal mail to the HR Department. Paper copies will be available from the Human Resources Office for those who do not have computer access or prefer to submit hard copies.
