Welcome back to Term 4. It is always a busy term and this year is no exception.

Thank you to the parents who met with their child’s teacher to discuss their progress. If you were unable to meet with your child’s teacher, please feel welcome to make an appointment if you wish to. Also, NAPLAN results were distribut-ed in the last week of Term 3 and parents of those children who did the NAPLAN assess-ments are welcome to make an appointment to discuss those results with their child’s teacher.

It is really important that children wear sun safe hats at school. Caps do not protect a child’s ears, neck or the side of their face. We have a duty of care to insist that students wear an appropriate hat at school. In consultation with our P&C we have included a surf hat as part of our uniform. There is also a bucket hat option. Both hats can be purchased from the school.

- Talking to your child about using a polite tone of voice with appropriate body language

Dear Parents and Families:

Reading for pleasure unlocks the power of infor-

mation and imagination and helps children discover

who they are. Here’s what you can do to help chil-

dren develop stronger reading skills and a love for

reading:

Set the example. Let children see you read.

Have a collection of books in your home. Up-

date this collection routinely to keep up with

changing tastes and reading skills.

Support our school’s Book Fair. Allow your children to choose their own books to read.

The theme of our Scholastic Book Fair is Dino-Mite, where we hope you will Stomp, Chomp, and Read!

It’s a fun reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into our school. It’s a wonderful selec-

tion of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair

and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits.

Book Fair dates: 21st to 24th October 2019

Shopping hours: Before 9.10am, 1.50pm -2.10pm, after school

We look forward to seeing you and your family at our Book Fair! Remember, all purchases benefit our

school.

Sincerely,

Margaret Morris

Teacher/Librarian
