MAYOR’S CORNER Greetings! I hope you are enjoying your summer! There are a lot of upcoming
events I hope you will be a part of in the month of August.
Gather the family and join us for a Friday evening movie in the park, movies
start at dusk. The next showing is Nut Job on Friday, August 8th!
The Olmsted Festival of the Arts is scheduled for Sunday, August 10th from
10am to 5pm at the Frostville Museum. Rain or shine, over 50 artisans, crafters,
farm vendors and food trucks will join a full line up of music at this one day
festival, along with NOHS student art and family activities!
Join us on Sunday, August 17th from 4pm to 6pm at the North Olmsted Park for
Family Concert Series. Enjoy food, fun and music by Charlie in the Box!
The annual Homecoming events are scheduled for Thursday, August 21st
through Sunday, August 24th. This festival is sponsored by Community Council
and features food, vendors and entertainment. One of the highlights, the
Homecoming parade, begins at 1:00pm on Sunday afternoon. Please be sure to
make a trip to North Olmsted Park to enjoy this community event.
We will be hosting our seventh annual community shredding event on Saturday,
August 23rd in the City Hall parking lot by the Police Station from 9:00am to
noon. The Cintas/Shred-it staff will handle documents and shred them while
you wait. Each household may bring material equivalent to the capacity of two
standard size copy paper boxes (10” x 18” x 9”). This service is being provided
to North Olmsted residents at no cost; please bring proof of residency, such as a
current utility bill or driver’s license with a North Olmsted address. If you have
any questions, please call Annie Kilbane at 440-716-4261.

2014 North Olmsted Homecoming:
The North Olmsted Community Council sponsors North
Olmsted’s annual Homecoming event. Homecoming will
take place Thursday August 21st through Sunday August
24th in the North Olmsted Park. Join in on the fun as the
midway opens up at 6:00pm Thursday night. Friday Night
the City of North Olmsted hosts in the Big Tent 6:00-8:30.
The traditional Homecoming parade will begin on Sunday
afternoon at City Hall and march on Lorain Road finishing
it’s route in the park. Other Homecoming activities include
but are not limited to: live music, City Schools Display, Po-
lice vs. Fire softball tournament, car show and much more!
