caught by a man who looks like a vampire, Cathy= victim• She is invited to Bath with Mr and Mrs Allen• At a ball she meets Mr Tilney and is head over heels in

love• Her brother is in love with Isabella Thorpe, a false-faced

woman• Isabella’s brother tells lies about Catherine • Catherine is invited to Northanger Abbey • She suspects Mr Tilney’s father to be a murderer • Mr Tilney catches her spying in the abbey • Though they like one another, they are separated by Mr

Tilney’s father (due to lies by Mr Thorpe)• At the end Mr Tilney is allowed to propose to Catherine
