The weather this week has certainly caused

a stir amongst the children. As you can see

they have enjoyed a couple of snowy play-

times!

World Book Day on Thursday brought with

it so many fantastic costumes. The children

really enjoyed listening to stories in differ-

ent ‘nooks’ and a

hunt of famous

book characters

posted around the school. Mr Berriman judged the

best dressed of each class and the winners were, Violet

Clayson ‘Violet the Pilot’, Ophelia Savage ‘Lola’,

Digby Steed ‘Peter Rabbit’ and Agatha Hudson ‘My

Little Pony’.

Can we just remind you all to ensure that your child

has a hat, scarf and gloves in school to wrap up in for

outside play. Could we also request that if you have

any outgrown tights or socks they would be gratefully

appreciated in the Nursery as we always need spares.

Message from the Headmaster

The week has, of course, been disrupted by the snow and bad weather but I have to say we have got on with school life as close to normal as possible.

We will look for alternative dates for those events that were postponed. In the meantime stay safe, warm and hope to see you on Monday.

Chinese Visit

On Monday, we welcomed 7 visi-

tors from Greentown Yuhua Pri-

mary School, China. It was a very

successful visit and our visitors

were overwhelmed with the com-

munity spirit of NPS and the quali-

ty of education provided. They

commented particularly on the

care the children receive from all

the staff and they were eager to

learn all about the curriculum and

the many enrichment opportunities.

World Book Day

World Book Day was celebrated in great style at NPS with every child, and many of

the staff, dressing up as literary characters. There were colourful guest appearances

from an Oompah Loompah, Eeyore, Tigger and Winnie the Pooh, and some Harry

Potters. Ivor the Engine chugged in for the day, Dennis the

Menace and Fantastic Mr Fox joined in. Miss Trunchbull

unusually treated all of the Matildas very nicely and Sleep-

ing Beauty and her three Fairy godmothers added a touch

of magic. Superman flew around and Hetty Feather cleaned

up after him.

There are far too many brilliant

characters to mention here but

thank you to all the children and

staff for entering into the spirit of

the day; it was great fun and

wonderful to see such an array of

outfits with some super home-

made costumes and props too.

A very special thanks must go to

the Boarding Team for all their

support of the boarders and, of

course, to all our parents for their

enthusiastic involvement.
