• Many changes have occurred because middle schools will be aligned with high schools next year on a semester system instead of trimesters.

• Changes to course offerings have “unlocked” many year-long classes and allowed for personalization and choice.

Compete against your classmates in the world of engineering, designing and robotics while challenging your problem solving skills and STEM knowledge! Are you up for the challenge?Students in this course will be able to use concepts of problem solving to challenge their skills and knowledge of engineering. Course content will revolve around the various engineering subjects of robotics, architecture, flight concepts with the use of drones and 3D designing. Various design and programming software will allow each student to construct and test robots, mechanisms, designs in green architecture, 3D design and printing all while using the design process and tools.

You will leave this course with the ability to think critically and creatively through coding electronic devices, creating mobile apps, leading others with an entrepreneurial spirit, gaining financial responsibility from the businesses you create and operate within your school, adding meaning to pictures and video using a blend of technology and storytelling content all while understanding the core value and benefits of teamwork. ONLINE STUDENT REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS - 8th GradeOnline registration for the 2018-2019 school year is available via the Infinite Campus Portal from 7:30 AM on Monday, January 15 through 8:30 AM on Friday, January 26.STEP ONE: Log on to your Infinite Campus Portal Account - You may logon and register using either a student account or a parent account. You must know your username and password to log on. If you have forgotten your username and/or password or need them to be reset, please go to the Infinite Campus website.STEP TWO: Access the Course Search Screen – First click on the “Registration” link located on the left side of the window. Then click on the “Course Search” tab at the top of the window.STEP THREE: Select your Elective Courses – Your required classes (Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Physical Education) will automatically be selected for you and will be listed on the left side of the window under the heading “Required Courses.” Please note any special placement classes will be made at a later date. You will ONLY need to choose your elective classes.Search for a course by typing the course number (located in the Registration Handbook) in the appropriate field. Then click the “Go” button.A. You could also search for a course by typing in the first few letters of the course name. Clicking the “Go” button will display all available courses.B. When you find the Elective course you want, select it by clicking on it. Then click the “Request this Course” button located at the bottom of the page. Please note that you may need to scroll down in order to see this button.C. The course name should now appear on the left side of the window under the heading “Requested Courses.”D. If you want to remove a course that you selected, you can do so. Begin by clicking on the course name under the “Requested Courses” heading. Then click on the “Drop This Request” button. The course name should disappear from the “Requested Courses” section.STEP FOUR: Select your Alternate Course Choice -- To select your alternate course you will follow the same procedure outlined in Step Three, except that you will click the “Request as an Alternate” button, instead of the “Request this Course” button referred to in Step 3(B).

STEP FIVE: Submit your Signed Registration Form to your World History Teacher - Include your signed Challenge Science contract, if applicable

Your course preferences are a first step in developing a school-wide schedule. Please be aware that it may be difficult to honor the requests of students who submit their Registration Forms after the due date.
