PROJECT021: GIVEN TO FLYThe netball girls and hockey boys went on a camp in Grabouw. I am sure that I speak on behalf of everyone when I say it was an experience that we shall never forget. Whether it was taking on the two-rope bridge challenge, racing in a raft that we built ourselves or even zip lining, we all learned that in order to work as a team we need to listen and

communicate with one another. We need to encourage and support each other even when just one person in the group is afraid, because that is what team work is all about. We know now that each and every one of us has each other’s back, and we would not want anybody to come into harm’s way, because now we are what they call a TEAM!

Tydens ons jaarlikse paaseierprojek wat deur die seniorleiers hanteer word, is daar ‘n total van 20 000 paaseiers ingesamel en dan aan verskeie organisasie geskenk.

Die o.18A-netbalspan van die Hoërskool Brackenfell het gedurende die langnaweek deelgeneem aan die Klein Karoo Top 10 Skole-Netbaltoernooi op Oudtshoorn en in die proses as wenners uitgetree. Die

mense van Oudtshoorn het almal baie tuis laat voel en selfs ‘n chaperone (Julia, in geel op die foto) vir die span gegee om hulle telling te hou, middagete te bring ens. Die spelers het die toernooi terdeë geniet.

Mev Hanneli Kellerman van die Hoërskool Brackenfell het leerders aangemoedig om geld in te samel om bome op die terrein te plant. R10 300 is ingesamel. Hier staansy by haar “geldboom” waaraan elke klas wat deelgeneem het,’n blaar kon hang. ‘n Wonderlike gees het geheers terwyl die sente vir die bome ingerol het.

Op Saterdag, 18 April 2015 het die Laerskool Brackenfell ‘n Grondslagfase netbaldag gehou. Spelers van graad R tot 3 het deelgeneem. Daar was 48 spanne en ongeveer 390 spelers wat deelgeneem het. Die doel van die dag was om dit te geniet en vir die afrigters

die geleentheid te gee om hul spanne vir die seisoen te finaliseer. Vir party van die graad 1 spelers was dit hul eerste ervaring om ‘n volwaardige wedstryd te kon speel. Die Laerskool Brackenfell het vier graad R-spanne laat deelneem tydens

die netbaldag. Dankie aan al die organiseerders, ouers, spelers en afrigters wat die dag bygewoon het en saam geniet het. Ons sien uit daarna om al hierdie spelers in aksie te sien tydens die 2015 seisoen. Baie sterkte aan elke speler en afrigter!

INTERNATIONAL PI DAY AT DE KUILEN PRIMARY SCHOOLIn March all learners at De Kuilen celebrated international PI Day. What a day of fun and laughter it was The different topics that were covered in the Grade 4 - 7 grades were: (1) Space and Shape, (2) Tangrams, (3) Measurement, (4) Time, (5)problem Solving, (6) Patterns. Verskillende stasies is in die saal en op die speelgrond uitgepak. Elke graad moes 6 stasies uitpak. Elke seksie in elke graad het dan vir 45 minute van

die een stasie na die ander beweeg om verskeie aktiwiteite te doen. Dit was groot pret. Speel -speel het die leerders op daardie dag hul Wiskunde terdee geniet. The Foundation phase also worked and packed out activities on the playground. During interval teachers were treated with a snack... (a home-made chicken pie as well as a sweetie-pie).

WE ARE HEALTHY KIDS!

Labbies learners had great fun participating in Earth Tree Day. Learners enjoyed a healthy snack, while keeping the seeds to plant. No matter what the occasion, we at Labiance go all out!!

The grade 3 learners enjoyed building their own sandwiches at school, as part of the Healthy Living Theme. This allowed

them to “stack” them as they like, and also gave mommies a day off from lunch duty! Mmmm….

BELLPARK CARNIVAL ENJOYED BY ALLBellpark’s annual Carnival took place on the 27th of March. Laughing children, spinning rides and traditional carnival food were enjoyed by all who attended. There was something special to do no matter what your age. The atmosphere was incredible with the smell of pancakes in the air, the sun baking and the youthful excitement surrounding the whole of Bellpark Primary. The highlight of the day was the push-cart races. The spectators could cheer and experience some healthy competition brought on by these annual races. Once again this event was a tremendous success and we look forward to the years to come.
