WANTED: A Sponsor for one of the two children that Lorraine Lynch sponsored at "God's Mercy Orphanage Center" in Kisoro, Uganda. His name is Nsabiyunva, Silver. He is a 14 year old by that will be moving into Prima-ry 7 in 2020. Lorraine paid the fees for both of her kids before she passed away. So there will be no cost to sponsor Silver in the 2020 School Year. (Uganda schools run on a calendar year) Carolyn & Myron Scheibe have committed to sponsor the other child. We want to find a Sponsor for Silver so that he can begin to develop a relationship with his new Sponsor in the next year. Then, in October 2020, the new Sponsor(s) will begin paying fees for 2021 and subsequent years. Fees for a child in Senior Grades is $400 per year. That fee pays tuition and boarding which is $320. The re-maining $80 goes towards clothing and school supplies. We also ask Sponsors to pay an additional $25 for a
Christmas gift and $25 for a Birthday gift. Those gifts are always in the form of clothing and shoes. We also encourage Sponsors to contribute $25 or more towards the annual Christmas celebration at GMOC. So, the total cost to Sponsor Silver for Grades 8-11 will be $475 per year, which equates to only $40 per month. Lorraine Lynch changed this 14 year old boy from a life of certain poverty to a life of hope. But, in order to keep that hope alive, we need to find Sponsors for Silver. Re-member, fees will not start until October 2020 because the fees for School Year 2020 are already paid. Attached is a brief biography of Silver as written by Robbinah Hakiza, Director of GMOC. There is also a recent photo of Silver. Would you be willing to learn more about being a Sponsor of Silver? Please contact me at: [email protected] Thank you for your consideration. Merle Anderson
BRIEF BIOGRAPHY FOR NSABIYUNVA SILVER: Nsabiyunva Silver is 14 years old. He is one of the children under the Care of God’s Mercy Orphanage Centre but categorized as a vulnerable child. At God’s Mercy Orphanage Centre we have three categories
of children. Total Orphans, Partial Orphans and Vulnerable children. Vulnerable children may have both parents, but the parents are too poor to support their children to stay in school. Nsabiyunva is the third born in a family of six siblings. Two of his elder siblings dropped out of school due to lack of education materials. His other three young siblings attend a poor-quality school in our community. His Dad is a laborer who specializes in digging Pit Latrines for community members. His job is very poor paying and very risky. He has to manually break through hard rock to dig a pit 20’ deep. The family does not own land and are not able to grow food. To supplement on her husband’s small earnings, Nsabiyunva’s Mom weaves baskets for sale. Nsabiyunva will join Primary Seven (P.7) in 2020. His lower level class grade performance was very poor but he kept on improving. He is now an average student. He is a boy of few words and well behaved. The attached picture is of Nsabiyunva taken on Monday 25th November, 2019. He was found helping his dad to dig a Pit Latrine. The
name Nsabiyunva means – GOD LISTENS TO MY PRAYERS.
