A Reading and Discussion via Zoom with

Author Robert W. Spencer Prospects: Mining Maine for Riches Tuesday, December 1, 6:30-7:30 pm

Join Waterford author Robert W. Spencer as he discusses his novel, Prospects: Mining Maine for the Riches, commemorating the two hundredth anniversary of the finding of Maine’s first native tourmaline at Mount Mica in Paris. Prospects is based on the life of Canadian Clarence Potter who moved from northern Ontario to Maine in 1897 to work the Oxford County pegmatite mines. The story takes place with a backdrop of the Maine mining scene at the turn of the twentieth century. Borrow a copy from the library or purchase locally at The Tribune on Main Street in Norway.

To join the Zoom meeting go to: https://networkmaine.zoom.us/j/89331246244

Morning Book Club Tuesdays at 9:00 am via Zoom

December 15: Wishin’ and Hopin’ by Wally Lamb

This book discussion group is open to anyone who likes to talk about books with others. To attend, go to:

https://networkmaine.zoom.us/j/89446779785 or use the link found on the library’s home page.

January’s selection is A Burning by Megha Mejumdar. That discussion will take place on January 19, 2021.

    A Helpful Addition Coming Soon...

At their October board meeting, the board members of the Friends of Norway Memorial Library voted to purchase a library return box for the side entrance of the library. That means we will soon have two outside return boxes available during the winter months when the parking lot return box is inaccessible. Thank you to all members of the Friends of NML. Their contributions make this purchase possible. It is one of the ways that the Friends of NML fulfill their mission to enhance library services to all users.

    Jigsaw Puzzles

Need a fun inside activity that is both good for the mind and relaxing? Pick out a jigsaw puzzle from the library’s collection. We now have a selection of 500-, 750– and 1000-piece puzzles that to borrow.

Story Time on YouTube Please visit the NML YouTube page or NML Children’s Room Facebook page to

watch Annika read stories anytime. New episodes are posted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Subscribe to the Norway Memorial Library YouTube channel for more videos.
