Communal Scheme for Flats

• 245 sites with bins (6700 properties)

• 126 sites not yet served (11800 properties)

• Provide 6,700 homes with baskets and leaflets, February to March.

• Recycled bank specific criteria - developed and emailed by Friday December 10 to select committee members for comments.

• Suggested assessment sites:

– Residents: Pottergate, St Giles,

– Foot traffic: Prince of Wales Road, Orford Hill

• Cost of trial: approx £ 11,450 (paper and glass only: additional spend)

• Breakdown assumes 6 sites and includes

– Purchase

– Delivery

– Collection

– Publicity

– Level of contamination (50% allowed for)

Aluminium/mixed cans collected (approx 60000 cans per tonne) depends on ratio Al to steel.
