Foreword by Employee Engagement Network founder David Zinger
John Junson is the Employee Engagement Network designer and resident cartoonist. John and I have been friends since grade nine. Gallup research found that if you have a best friend at work you are more engaged and John certainly contributes to my level of engagement with the network. He offers the lighter side on work and rejuvenates my perspective on work with a fresh cartoon every week. Early this year John will create his 400th cartoon for the network. In addition he has sold and offered numerous customized cartoons and graphics to many of our members for their books, presentations, and work. Enjoy the 12 cartoons in this zippy little eBook and if you like what you see I encourage you to contact John to have him create and infuse cartoons or great graphics into your work.

2014 is an important year for me. Some day this Spring (nobody remembers exactly which one) will mark the fifth anniversary of the day I approached Employee Engagement Network founder, David Zinger, with the crazy idea of doing a regular cartoon strip for the site. After some initial reluctance, he generously gave me the green light based on one sample cartoon. It’s been an interesting rollercoaster ride, with many original characters jumping off and never being seen again, while new characters scramble on board to take their places. I try to explore many different sides of engagement in the cartoon, sometimes it’s a bit on the dark side, many times it’s full of hope and optimism for the future. As you can see in the recent cartoon below, I think the year 2014 is going to be a great one for all of us...the numbers add up!
