TYPES OF PRAYER. Prayer is a way we communicate our
needs, thankfulness and gratitude to God. There are many form of
prayer that can be used to communicate with God. Over the next
few weeks we will explore some of these forms and how we can
use them to communicate with God. THANKSGIVING. This is self-explanatory. We all have had
something good happen to us. When we do, we usually give
thanks to God for all he’s done for us. That’s Thanksgiving
prayer! We should thank God every morning for each day and
thank Him in the evening for helping us through the day. That’s
our way of giving thanks to God for the blessings that are ours!

SOCIAL MINISTRY QUOTE: “I plead with you then, as a
prisoner for the Lord, to live a life worthy of the calling you have
received, with perfect humility, meekness, and patience, bearing
with one another lovingly. Make every effort to preserve the
unity which has the Spirit as its origin and peace as its binding
force. There is but one body and one Spirit, just as there is but
one hope given all of you by your call. There is one Lord, one
faith, one baptism, one God and Creator of all, who is over all and
works through all and is in all.” St. Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians
4: 1-6 *****************************************************

ASK THE MASTER OF THE HARVEST TO SEND OUT
LABORERS FOR HIS HARVEST – As a nation, we pause this
weekend to celebrate Labor Day and as Christians we are invited
to give thanks and praise to God for the gift of human labor that
enriches us. In our daily lives, our work is that which we do to
make a living, to provide for our families and to share the gifts
that God has given us. Our labor involves our hands and minds
and hearts and truly becomes a reflection of the work of God in
creating and sustaining the world. Yet, our labor does not end
when the work day is over. The Lord also invites us, as people of
faith, to labor in his vineyard. Our life of faith cannot be a passive
endeavor. To sit back and simply let God do good for us does
nothing when it comes to sharing faith and truth and making new
disciples. Instead, our faith, like our work, is an active sharing of
the gifts of will, intellect, strength and love that we have been
given. On Mission for The Church Alive! invites us to labor in on
behalf of the Church so that the seeds of faith can be planted in
the hearts of others through word and deed. And as we invite
others to follow God and enter into caring relationships with
them, God can reap a bountiful harvest of the fruits of his love.

informed.
